Possibly viral: Viral infection can do strange things including causing hives. However swelling is unusual although not impossible since hives and swelling are often based on similar mechanism just occurring at different sites. If this is caused by a viral infection, it should go away within a few days. Make sure your pills are not the cause. If problem breathing , rush to ER. ...Read more
