White spot on lingual frenulum, some redness and irritation under my tongue. upper neck sore with right side gland by artery swollen for 2 months????

Salivary stone?

Salivary_gland
You may want to have your oral surgeon examine the floor of your mouth for a possible salivary stone. A stone that blocks the end of this salivary duct can cause swelling and tenderness of the gland it drains as well as the floor of the mouth until the stone is removed. Chronic blockage of the flow of saliva can also cause infection of the gland so visit your oral surgeon reasonably soon.

Tonsils are lymph tissue generally & part of the lymphatic system of the immune system. Swollen lingual tonsils, at the base of the tongue, may indicate some type of allergic or immune issue. Keep a diary: food, drinks & toothpaste (flavors) could trigger an immune response. Gastric reflux or sinus drainage could affect this lymph tissue also. Sleep breathing problems could be involved.

What causes me to be tongue tied and pain in lingual frenulum?

Genetic

Genetic
A tongue tie is a genetic Condition. It may or may not be at all symptomatic. However if you have a rogue tie and it stretches or slightly tears it can be very uncomfortable. A small tear or injury can lead to an ulcer and significant pain. If it is a significant problem for you then I can be easily corrected by an ENT doctor or an oral surgeon.

Dr. Mark Hanna answered:

what kinds of infection cause swelling of the lingual frenulum?

Sialolith

Stonea
You frenum is a small band of elastic connective tissue that connects your tongue to the floor of your mouth. It hardly ever gets infected. You probably have a little calcified stone called a sialolith blocking one of the salivary ducts around the frenum and causing swelling on the floor of your mouth and frenum. See your dentist asap!
