Doctor insights on:
Linea Nigra Insulin
Unusual: It's more common with combination hormones, especially with the higher dose pills, and of course in pregnancy. I've not seen it with Mirena (levonorgestrel) since the amount of systemic hormone (amount in your body's circulation) is very small. Make sure you're not pregnant and check with your Doc if you notice more darkening pigmentation. Take care. ...Read more
Dopamine: Stimulation (presumptively by amphetamines) causes a release of dopamine. If this is "supraphysiological" - i.e., more than the body would normally account for - you can end up with a Dopamine deficit. This is the same think as Cocaine addicts have after a run on cocaine, or crank or meth addicts have after a run. The good news is that the body can and will build it back up if allowed to. ...Read more

May be endocrine: Your symptoms are certainly suggestive of a possible endocrine diagnosis even if not cushings. Polycystic ovary syndrome, pcos, could also cause those symptoms. Start with your primary who may be comfortable doing all the evaluation and treatment for pcos and may send you for consult if labs are more suggestive of cushings. ...Read more

Period slight irregular.Multiple small cysts on ovaries. Day 21: progesterone 6.25nmol/l, LH 19.72miu/ml, FSH 7.45miu/ml, Prolactin 133.13 mu/l. Pcos?
Maybe: The data you provide don't give an absolute answer. "Multiple small cysts" sounds consistent with PCOS but without an image it might not. A Progesterone of 6+ only indicates that you ovulated. FSH and LH are not part of the diagnosis, nor is an FSH/LH ratio. Prolactin also is not part of PCOS diagnosis, but at 133 your is way too high, be certain to test it again fasting. ...Read more
