Linea Nigra In Children
I have a 2 yr old and 6mnth old. Both have faint linea nigras. Has anyone heard of children having this?
My linea nigra had faded a couple months after I gave birth its starting to darken and get thicker what does that mean?
Hard to say: If u ovulate irregularly u may have high testosterone and elevated insulin. Otherwise it is difficult to determine especially if it's the only place that is getting darker. Good luck, but doesn't sound like a disease process, wt gain can be correllated with high Insulin and darkening pigment. ...Read more

Unusual: It's more common with combination hormones, especially with the higher dose pills, and of course in pregnancy. I've not seen it with Mirena (levonorgestrel) since the amount of systemic hormone (amount in your body's circulation) is very small. Make sure you're not pregnant and check with your Doc if you notice more darkening pigmentation. Take care. ...Read more

Linea nigra w/o being preg? I'm darker skinned, I have what looks like the start of linea nigra from belly button to pubis. Neg hpts. Periods on time.
Possible.: Some dark-complected women have a visible linea nigra whether they are pregnant or not; it may have been there all along and you only noticed it recently. While it is unlikely that you are pregnant it's not totally out of the question. If you're sure that the line wasn't there before and now it is, you should see your gyn to rule out pregnancy & hormonal issues, e.g. Adrenal insufficiency. ...Read more
Can I have a linea nigra if I'm getting a contraceptive shot? No sex since Jan 27th, two heavy periods in feb with clots, also I use condoms with shot
Yes, but do a test.: Linea nigra, breast tenderness, abdominal bloating, weight gain and other signs and symptoms of pregnancy can be seen with contraceptives containing hormones. Since all contraceptive methods can fail, even when using hormonal contraceptives, any signs or symptoms of pregnancy warrant a pregnancy test. Double protection is not a guarantee. The only sure pregnancy prevention is abstinence. ...Read more

Ringworm is actually not caused by a worm at all, but is caused by a fungus that lives on the skin called tinea. People can get a tinea infection from skin to skin contact with an infected person or pet or by sharing personal items such as towels, clothing, and combs.
Clotrimazole is the generic name for the over the counter cream that treats ringworm. Apply 2-3 times a day for a few weeks until the lesion disappears completely and then some. Keep it covered for the first day of treatment (or longer if you want to) to prevent spread. Your child will need to see his doctor for a stronger medication if the ringworm is on his scalp, continues to spread after treatment at home or if it doesn't get better after 4 weeks of treatment at home. ...Read more

Structure: It is not necessarily that kids are "lazy". It may be as simple as a schedule and expectations problem. Some kids are in so many activities they are burned out and have little time for anything else. Most kids nowadays live to be on a wireless device and that takes a chunk of time. Have clear expectations of your child and let him know what they are. Unplug the tv, limit the phone gaming time. ...Read more
