Light Headed When Standing Up Lupus
I have recurring flares of rashes, joint pain, muscle aches, debilitating fatigue, dizziness. I have photosensitity and one episode of my WBC at 2.0 years back. My ANA is 6:40. I'm on plaquenil. Why are all my other antibodies neg for lupus?
Maybe SLE maybe not.: Diagnosis of rheumatologic disease is generally based on symptoms with support from lab. Sounds like you have a rheumatologic disease and are being treated with a rheumatologic agent perhaps by a rheumatologist. They can explain your particular situation better, but suffice it to say tests are not always right and a single test does not generally make or break a diagnosis. ...Read more

Sun can flare SLE: Although we don't have all of your data, there are people with lupus who are sunshine sensitive. The sunshine can activate systemic lupus erythematosus. Is blood pressures of high 90s/50-60s considered low if it's making me lightheaded & foggy and fatigued? My normal BP is 114/70s. I also have lupus.
It would not be: Uncommon to have symptoms of light-headedness, dizziness and perhaps fatigue with systolic blood pressures in the 90's though many people tolerate this blood pressure satisfactorily. First, try to increase your fluid volume by drinking liquids, especially those with electrolytes including Gatorade. If you don't feel better and BP comes up, contact your Doc or go to ER/Urgent Care. Blood loss? ...Read more

Frustrated, migraines, lupus, pd, osteoarthritis, raunoids, dizziness, memory loss, loss of concentration, is there any way to deal with this daily?
Lots of treatment:
It would be good if your treatment providers could become a team. It may still be a fantasy, but one to work towards. A powerful therapist might be able to corral all of these folk to coordinate care. Failing that, that therapist might help you accomplish that, at least in part.
I wish you success and would value feedback if you can do it! ...Read more
I have lupus. Why do you think prednisone always helps my lightheadedness &brain fog? No exact cause of these symptoms has been found.
? lupus cerebritis?: Lupus can involve brain directly and cause either low grade cognitive problems or even more severe delirium. However, there could also be underlying metabolic or chemical imbalances secondary to your regular meds or even the lupus, and that too might respond. ...Read more

Classic lupus symptoms for 5 months but all tests negative also have raindrop sensations, dizziness, pins and needles, muscle weakness. Any ideas?
Trial of therapy: There are not a lot of things that look like classical lupus so if all the symptoms are there even with negative tests I would treat it and see if it gets better. Also there are things that can cause a lupus-like syndrome. Usually the cause is a medication like procainamide, hydralazine, or infliximab. The list of medications is extensive so google it if you take lots of medications. ...Read more

Have lupus. Chest X-ray showed hyperinflated lungs the past few years but otherwise normal. Never smoked. Exercise. No sob but do get lightheaded. Cause?
See your rheumatolog: There are several sle related possibilities and numerous other causes for your sob. I would normally recommend a high resolution ct of the chest to look for interstitial lung disease and an echocardiogram to look for pulmonary artery hypertension. If you have leg swelling or anticardiolipin antibodies you should also be checked for a blood clot. If these are negative there are next steps. ...Read more

With lupus, is it normal 2 flare with a simple virus? I have stomach virus &have mild sharp chest pains, jt pains, dizziness, etc like I do w/flares.
Need more informatio: I would consider three things. The first is everything is a viral illness. The second is everything is a lupus flare. And third yes infections can cause lupus to flare.
