Is it normal to have light hair on your face as a female?

Yes: I do a lot of laser hair removal. Light facial hair is common. Most of the women are very happy to have me remove it. Is it true that people with light hair usually have drier skin?

Is it true that people with light hair usually have drier skin?

Not really: I think the dryness is related to being able to make vitamin d. Light skin typically spends less time in the sun due to burning which means less vitamin d. Vitamin d has been linked to dry skin especially in our pediatric population. So help the skin with vitamin d, drinking water and using omega 3 which can help produce healthy oils in your skin. ...Read more

I have noticed very tiny light hair under my eyes (over the cheeks), how to remove it permanently? And if I shave it will it grow thick n dark?

Waxing may help: Please realize that most people cannot see the light hairs, (i.e., looks like peach fuzz on the face) unless they are at very close range, or if you're using a very high-powered bathroom mirror. These types of hairs are too light for laser hair removal. However, they can be removed by electrolysis, or continual waxing. Some people advocate threading. Consult w/an esthetician, who does this work. ...Read more

My daughter is 6mo& has a patch of fine hair above her bottom on her back & today in the sun I saw she has light hair on her vagina. Is this normal?

Fine hairs infant: Certain ethnic groups tend to have more body hair than others, even in infancy. The light hair on her vaginal area is likely nothing to worry about unless it becomes dark and curly. The patch of hair above her bottom, or over her sacrum, is occassionally related to abnormalities of the end of the spinal canal. Have your pediatrician follow these things at her routine health visits. ...Read more

I changed my 7 week old baby girls nappy today in the bright sunlight and noticed some very fine light hair in the pubic region, I hadn't noticed it before. Is this usual?

Hair everywhere...: Besides the palms/soles and inside of oral/vaginal cavity, we have the fine hair everywhere from birth--normal. In certain areas of the body such as underarms and pubic region, the so called sexual-hair growth occurs in response to hormone increase during puberty which is darker and coarse in texture. Based on your description, your baby hair is normal. Congrats on new baby. Good luck. ...Read more
