Light Contractions At 27 Weeks Of Pregnancy With Twins
If I am at risk for preterm labor (twin pregnancy, lots of bh contractions, 2 CM cervix, 1 CM dilation, positive ffn), what can I do to lower my risk?
MFM care.: Depending on your gestational age maternal-fetal medicine consultation will help you and the babies achieve the optimal perinatal outcome. Pessary apparently may help prevent twin preterm birth, but pretty much nothing else helps. Please see an mfm to assess chorionicity and possibility of ttts/ops. Steroids and short term tocolysis (magnesium sulfate for 48 hours) help and should be considered! ...Read more
When your due date arrives, you will be more than ready to have your baby! Most women deliver the baby somewhere between 37 and 42 weeks. According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, only 5% of babies arrive on the exact due date. Approximately 7% of babies are not delivered by 42 weeks, and when that happens, it is referred to ...Read more

Hi! I'm 27 weeks prego. I take sertraline 75mg for my panicattack. My doc told me its safe during pregnancy is that true?
SSRI's in pregnancy: It is always best to limit serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRI's) in pregnancy, since the final word on effects in pregnancy is not yet established. There are other medications which may reduce the frequency of "panic attacks" or the severity of the attacks. Ask your ob provider to recommend alternative meds for this. ...Read more

Once diagnosed w/gestational diabetes at 27 weeks, can you reverse it during pregnancy and reverse how fast the baby is growing to normal rate?
Diabetes: The diagnosis of gestational diabetes is difficult (even though it should be easy). It is possible, based on a 3 hour glucose test to test positive on monday and, if repeated, test negative on friday. If you consistently run high glucose levels then you need to modify your diet and sometimes be on medication. Diet can often reverse the high sugars but you need to still check glucose levels. ...Read more

Can I have an abortion at 27 weeks I just found out a week ago that I was 27 weeks pregnant and I do not wish to continue the pregnancy. Is there anyway a doctor can help me?
Not poss to predict: Over the internet. YOu need to ask your OB Dr, what your status is. Twins can commonly come early, and sometimes doctors suggest you go to strict bedrest to try and keep the babies inside for as long as possible. There is a big difference between twins born at 27 weeks vs 30 weeks vs 32 wks vs 34 wks. Every week more is better for them. ...Read more

Is mypaid or Myprodol safe in pregnancy? More specifically the 3rd trimester? My dr has recommended I take it for pain but I’m not sure
3rd pregnancy, 27 weeks along and I look and feel as tho the baby's has dropped. Is this possible. Should I be worried?
The sensation of the baby dropping is not unusual for a 2nd pregnancy. However, if you note any abdominal tightening/cramping, change in discharge, bleeding/spotting or leakage, please get immediate attention. The main concern would be for preterm labor, but this is unlikely if your first pregnancy progressed to term without problems.
Hope that helps,

I am 27 weeks pregnant and I've gained a total of nine pounds during my whole pregnancy. Is this bad?
It depends: Recommended weight gain during pregnancy depends on your pre-pregnant weight, more specifically bmi, a measure of weight and body type. If, for instance, your pre-pregnancy bmi is in the normal range, then the recommended weight gain at 27 weeks would be about 15 lbs, but if your bmi is in the very overweight range then a total weight gain for the entire pregnancy might be only 5-10 lbs. ...Read more

You are admirable: I genuinely admire your courage and honesty. We all make mistakes and I am very proud of your asking for help and guidance for your baby. Great step forward! At 27 weeks pregnancy I had a blood test for rhesus c. They found cold antibodies. They say this can do no harm to my baby, but what does it mean for me?
Basically nothing: It may perhaps be a bit trickier finding the best donor blood should you need a transfusion, but there's enough c-negative blood available. Consider autologous donation should you be planning surgery -- always a good idea in any case. Congratulations on your upcoming delivery, and best wishes. ...Read more

Pregnancy 3rd trimester completes on 9 june I have increased blood flow in placenta on ultrasound what does it indicate? Is it fine or not?
Should be fine: Excellent blood flow to the placenta generally means your baby is being well nourished. Unless this is accompanied by other issues it is doubtful that this has negative connotations, but the best person to discuss this with would be the obstetrician who did or ordered the ultrasound. Have a great baby. ...Read more
