If blood pressure is high lowering should be done carefully in glaucoma prone patients as rapid lowering can cause damage to the nerve. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Use travatan for glaucoma w/40% reduction in pressure, but afraid of eye color change. Dr said slt would lower pressure the same amount. Right?
probably: Travatan and other drugs in is class can darken an eye that has some brown in the iris to begin with (hazel). Not a true blue eye and a dark brown eye is too dark to notice. Slt can have the effect of that medication in lowering the internal eye pressure although the effect is variable and may not be long lasting. There are other anti-glaucoma medications available however. ...Read more
When you change a glaucoma medication because of side effects, how long after you start the new medication should you have the eye pressure checked.
Travatan has lowered eye pressure in glaucoma 40% but i'm very afraid of possible eye color change. Could cosopt also lower pressure 40%?
Do not worry: Travatan is very effective at lowering pressure with almost no side effects, but more importantly can help prevent vision loss from glaucoma by lowering the pressure. The eye color change is rare, and might occur with long term use in people with blue eyes and a hazel center. The hazel part might appear darker or larger over a long period of time. Cosopt is ok, but has more side effects. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Maybe: Glaucoma means the pressure in the eye over time has caused damage to the optic nerve. Increased eye pressure is a risk factor for glaucoma but it does not necessarily mean you have it. Examination and evaluation by an eye md can help determine if you have glaucoma or are at risk of glaucoma and if treatment is needed. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers

0-70: Minimum 0 mmhg when the eye is completely collapsed and too much fluid is exiting the eye for the amount made. Maximum somewhere around 70 mmhg since eventually the eye can't make any more fluid (ischemic ciliary body). With repeated injections, you may be able to make the eye pressure higher. Glaucoma is when the pressure causes retinal ganglion cell loss (a different number for everyone). ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
