Not hypothyroid: Your TSH was within normal range(0.4-0.6 ) 4 months ago indicating you were not hypothyroid then and were on the proper dose of Synthroid (thyroxine). Your current Free T4 is within normal limits. However your TSH is slightly low which suggests that your current dose of Synthroid (thyroxine) is slightly too high and can be reduced. YOU ARE NOT HYPOTHYROID and your symptoms are not due to this. ...Read more

I'd elevated TSH;around 18, taking eltroxin 100 mcg daily, it's under control now but I look bloated, height 5.7", 145 lbs, age 29. What is wrong here?
Hypothyroidism: Eltroxin (levothyroxine) is used for hypothyroidism. If your TSH is 18, then you probably need an increase in dose of your eltroxin, although 100 mcg is probably enough to make you feel better, but a dose that normalizes your TSH will make you feel normal. Make sure you take it on an empty stomach and without hot liquids. See your doctor. ...Read more
12 years post op rny, iron 20 & vitamin d at 10. Seeing a new dr that hasn't worked with deficient gastric bypass, is 325ferrous 3x and 2000d 1x okay?
Nutrition!: A gastric bypass is a very complex nutrition situation. If your physician has not dealt with it much i would suggest asking for a referral to a nutritionist or a bariatric center. 43 y/o s/p hyst x 10 yrs. ovaries intact. Severe nighttime sweating. Estrogen level per lab was 904. ???
FSH & TSH levels?: Estrogen levels can be very misleading as estrogen is made in the ovaries, peripheral fat and adrenal glands and unless broken down into its' components of origin can miss the menopause picture. An FSH level can at least give your MD an idea that the ovaries may no longer be responding to produce estrogen in amounts that keep the "hot flashes" at bay. Also make sure your TSH(thyroid) is normal. ...Read more
