Generic acetaminophen rarely works for my headaches but name brand Tylenol always does. Why is this? I thought it was the exact same thing?

They should be: However the generic medicine manufactures are only held to a 70% purity when producing generic meds. Really with a generic med you are not getting the most pure form of the drug that is why it costs less aslo. Brand name tylenol is techiquely acetaminophen and it is 99% pure. In essence the brand tylenol will for the above reason will appear to be stronger.
Hope that helps ...Read more

Can I take Tylenol (acetaminophen) cold severe with store brand allergy medicine?

Can I take Tylenol (acetaminophen) cold severe with store brand allergy medicine?

Possibly, see below: It's always hard to tell with these combination products. The best thing to do is to look at the active ingredient list side-by-side. They're usually good at telling you what each ingredient does (cough suppressant, antihistamine, etc.). If two of the same ingredient are in each product - for example, two antihistamines - and especially if both products contain acetaminophen, do *not* take both. ...Read more

What's the least organ damaging/most body friendly of the OTC painkillers? Tylenol, (acetaminophen) Advil, or Aleve? (I realize those are brand names...)

All are safe: None will injure you used as directed. Some folks get elevated liver function tests from even a little Tylenol (acetaminophen). Advil reversibly damages the kidneys if you get dehydrated on the stuff. Same for Aleve. Some folks get liver sensitivity to any of these. I would choose the one that gives you the best pain relief, drink plenty of water, and not worry about this. ...Read more

Taking tylenol (acetaminophen) with codeine. Changed pharmacy. Suppose to be exact brand and dose. Makes me feel dizzy and tired. Same drug. How could this be?

Generic drugs: Generic drugs contain the same medication but are "build" with different components. Reabsorption and intolerance to the added non-medication part of the pill can make you feel different. Check on the maker of the initial brand you tolerated. You can call different pharmacies and see who carries the manufacturer. ...Read more

Finish the question: The drugs you are taking are standard post op. Prescriptions for augmentations but you should not be using very much of the medicine by now. Ibuprofen (Advil (ibuprofen) etc.) should be sufficient. Get off the valium and all will settle down. ...Read more
