See below: Both meselamine (5-amino-salicylic acid).Lialda is long-acting and is taken 2Xdaily.Asacol (mesalamine) is not long acting and is taken 3 Xs daily.Asacol (mesalamine) is no longer available in the U.S.but can be obtained in the rest of the world and it is MUCH cheaper than Lialda.You can fax your prescription to a Canadian pharmacy for asacol(different trade name but same thing) if u have to pay Lialda out of pocket.Best ...Read more

Unlikely: As one extra pill is not likely to lead to any concerning symptoms. This isnt' anywhere near toxicity levels. But if it's something you are concerned about, always feel comfortable review this with your gastroenterologist. Best of luck ...Read more
