Feeling brain fog and derealization, dizzy, stopped wellbutrin (bupropion) two weeks ago. Took for anxiety, took citalopram before, can i take citalopram again?
Citalopram is a good: choice for anxiety disorder. If you responded and tolerated it before you may experience the same. Discuss with prescriber to review past and current symptoms and med experience. Employ anxiety management strategies, reduce stress, develop relaxation/self-calming measures. Can i retake citalopram if im having bad wellbutrin (bupropion) withdrawal? Was on citalopram before wellbutrin (bupropion)
Wellbutrinwithdrawal: I feel empathy for your symptoms of withdrawal and your desire to have relief. Do not be desperate; withdrawal symptoms will be less intense in next few days. Citalopram is for Depression. It is likely that you stopped Citalopram as it did not help. See Psychiatrist immediately for Diagnosis, monitoring of withdrawal symptoms; discuss gradual withdrawal; other medications, and Intensive Therapy ...Read more
Just started Prozac 20mg 6 days ago. Was taking 10 mg of Lexapro (escitalopram) before. He many mg of Prozac would equal the same as 10 mg Lexapro (escitalopram)?
It's not like that: You're comparing apples and oranges. Different medications with different mechanisms don't have equivalent doses. Most medications have a usual starting dose which has been shown to have reasonable efficacy and tolerability. Then the dose is adjusted according to clinical response. You can't say, "This much of this one is the same as that much of that one." It doesn't work that way. ...Read more

Took Effexor (venlafaxine) 75 mg for two weeks bad results. Switching back to cellexa. How long before I start to feel better, one more day mixing Effexor (venlafaxine) with cel?
Switching Meds: The Effexor (venlafaxine) will flush out of your system within the next couple of days. If that was making you feel worse, your mood will start to improve gradually once you stop taking it. If you felt better on celexa when on it before, then hopefully you will again, but it can take 4+ weeks before it gets up to its full effect. Have you considered seeing a therapist? That often helps along with the meds. ...Read more

Just started Zoloft (sertraline) a couple days ago for GAD and started feeling depressed- initial side effects?
Possibly: It is not a common side effect, but it has been reported. It is primarily an anti-depressant - so it should not cause it but all of these psychotropics do strange things at times. So, watch carefully - many side effects do disappear in a few days - others lessen - if you are not pleased, let your provider know. Find alternatives. Consider CBT therapy too to optimize treatment effects. ...Read more
I stopped taking Lexapro (escitalopram) 3 days ago after a month. No withdrawal so far. Chances it'll still happen?
Not likely: 1 month is not that long of a course to develop a significant reliance on the medication and you should not have any significant withdraw from dicontinuing it. Everyone metabolizes medications differently, but also the fact that after 3 days off, and you have no issues, that also suggests you will be fine. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
