Lexapro 6 Days
1 mo. 10mg Lex did nothing. 1 mo. Of Effexor (venlafaxine) XR and only s/e. Switched to 20mg Lexapro & after 6 days no signs of anything at all. What's my deal?
Patience: Unfortunately it sometimes takes several trials to find the right antidepressant that helps you without causing side effects. Lexapro (escitalopram) is a very good antidepressant, but 6 days isn't enough time to judge whether the 20mg will work for you. Antidepressants have a cumulative effect that builds up over time. Give it 4-6 weeks before giving up on it. I know you'd love to feel better now, hopefully soon ...Read more

I've only been on Lexapro 10mg for 5 days and I want to stop taking them. Should I stop completely or taper off?
Stop but tell Doctor:
Since you have only been on it for 5 days and that is not a high dose it should be OK to just stop, though if you had been on it longer I would suggest reducing to 5 mg a day for awhile. Please tell your Dr. That you stopped.
You don't say why you stopped but it can cause side effects and it can take time to see the benefits.
There are other treatments you can try- please see my comment. ...Read more

I stopped taking Lexapro (escitalopram) 3 days ago after a month. No withdrawal so far. Chances it'll still happen?
Not likely: 1 month is not that long of a course to develop a significant reliance on the medication and you should not have any significant withdraw from dicontinuing it. Everyone metabolizes medications differently, but also the fact that after 3 days off, and you have no issues, that also suggests you will be fine. ...Read more
Can I take a Lexapro until I can get my script refilled for my Paxil (paroxetine) if I'm not feeling well and have a couple days I have to wait?
I took lexapro, serotia, zolgen accidentally and had it for two days but I don't have depression. I took last medicine august 14.when to be normal?
You may be fine:
We do not have serotia or zolgen I reviewed serotia which is quetiapine and it's 1/2 life is 6-7 hours. It is made by Sun Pharma. Zolgen is Alprazolam. It's 1/2 life depends on your health from 11to 19 hours. These are made by InnoGen.

Is it okay to stop lexapro after 3 days of 5 mg. I am not sure I want to continue taking it as I am afraid of the qt interval issue and have low potas?
Cutting my 10mg Lexapro (escitalopram) in half to see if anorgasmia disappears. Haven't felt much benefit from 10mg after 16 days, so is 5mg a legit dose?
You sound smart: And yes, using a taper by half for a week, then another half if needed sounds safe - but it is still best to pass it by the Dr who Rx'd. They learn by getting this sort of feedback and can protect you from a bad reaction only if they know what's happening. Best wishes! Consider CBT therapy to learn skills for living. ...Read more

I have a nagging headache some days. I am on 10mg of Lexapro (escitalopram) for the last 12 months. Could this cause it after 12 months. It is so annoying. Thanks?
I've been on 10mg of Lexapro (escitalopram) for 3 days and the side effects are bothering me. Is it ok to reduce it to 5mg for a few days? My Dr. Is unavailable.
Try 5mg AM & 5mg PM: Does your Dr have a backup? That might be worth a try. Otherwise, since you've just started it, early short-lived side effects are common and may disappear on their own. Another reasonably safe way to lessen them may be to take half in the morning and half at night. That's probably less risky than half dose per day. As you know, keep Dr informed ASAP! Best wishes! ...Read more
Forgot to take Lexapro (escitalopram) 15mg 2-3 days. Feel terrible, probably withdrawals. Should I take full dose now and again in the morning or wait till morning
Took Lexapro (escitalopram) 10mg for two days then dr said to quit cause side effects. Today is 2nd day not taking it I feel lil better. How long til out of system?
Half-life = 24-25hrs: So, after a day off, you'd have 5mg, the 2nd day, you'd have 2.5mg, 3rd, 1.25 and so on - that's very low - so you should be free of the nasty side effects soon. Clearly, you ae sensitive and before you start ANY medications take the time to read up on them and fully discuss them w/ your provider. Some are very hard to stop. Non-pharma psychotherapy might be a choice to consider. Best! ...Read more
