I was prescribed Prozac 40 mg, Ritalin 10 mg, Concerta 108 mg, Remeron 30 mg and Risperdal 3 mg. Is this number of drugs safe?
Looks like pplypharm: while need more of hx, suspect by number of your medications you probably do not need to be on this many, make sure your psychiatrist is not adding on a new medication for every new psychiatric symptom as sometimes one disease like depression can have all the other associated symptoms like inattention, poor concentration which will improve with an antidepressant alone without the need for Ritalin. ...Read more

Interactions with adrena smart. Currently I am taking 300mg wellbutrin (bupropion) od, naproxen 500mg prn, tramacet prn ( naproxen /tramacet for grade 3 sprain)?
Hard to tell : Research is needed to best answer these types of questions. Unlike fda approved drugs, dosing for supplements like adrenasmart are not standardized and they are not rigorously researched, making their potential for drug-drug interaction unknown. Tramadol plus wellbutrin (bupropion) plus adrenasmart could conceivably precipitate seizure. Question is if adrenasmart is even needed for your "adrenal exhaustion". ...Read more

Doc prescribed Carafate for my gastritis. I'm taking propranolol, synthroid, omeprazole, amitiza, (lubiprostone) fish oil, multi vitamin daily. Any interactions?

Which can result in dilation of blood vessels with very low blood pressure, depression of the central nervous system and impaired breathing which can be fatal. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Out of vitamin D3 5000 mg 1/day, vitamin B12 1/day, requip (ropinirole) 1mg 1/day, duexis 800 mg 3/day or kolonopin 0.5mg 1/day which one would constipate me?
See your physician: None of these medications is a "usual suspect" that causes constipation. However, 4% of patients taking Duexis reported constipation (caveat: the percent of patients taking ibuprofen who reported constipation was the same). Keep a log of your bowel movements (frequency, consistency, timing) and take it to your physician for discussion. http://www.rxlist.com/duexis-side-effects-drug-center.htm ...Read more

I have high bp,tachycardia, daily take Effexor (venlafaxine) XR, soma, ultram, zonegran, methergine, metoprolol tar, elavil, neurontin. What OTC cold med can I take?
I am prescribed .50mg Xanax (alprazolam) 3/daily, 75mg Amitriptyline, and 50mg Trazadone. I'm 6'1, 232 male. Is this safe?
OVERLAPPING MEDS: The combo of Meds you are on looks like you are being treated for anxiety and depression . Xanax (alprazolam) is short acting for anxiety . Trazadone and amitriptyline are long acting for anxiety and depression but are very similar and both cause weight gain.. I would taper trazadone and start cymbalta. You need full lab work up including TFTS. Also a sleep study to rule out sleep apnea. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Suspected failed Fundoplication.Extreme upper abdo tightness&pressure. Can belch easily. Prescribed 80mg Nexium (esomeprazole) daily. What r the effects of high dose?
Maybe none: I you really suspect the fundoplication failed, you should get another endoscopy, barium swallow, pH test, and even manometry, and compare them to the preoperative data. It may be that the sunrooms are not due to reflux. Long term, high dose PPI medication MAY be associated with osteoporosis and heart attacks, but the data are not iron clad. Probably Not: Especially for someone who is young. Neurontin (gabapentin) doesn't even get metabolized by the liver.
