Started 500mg of levofloxcin. 1x I took I was up all night is that a side effect. Haven't slept prior to taking cuz was up sick. I need to slp?
I have to take levofloxcin for a UTI im afraid of side effects are they common in young healthy adults?
Why levo: In young healthy adult, Levaquin (levofloxacin) is well tolerated. However, Levaquin (levofloxacin) is a pretty strong antibiotic for just a regular urinary infection, unless your urine culture showed that you had a bacterium that is resistant to other antibiotics. If you did not have a urine culture done, then be aware that there is rising bacterial resistance to the class of antibiotics that Levaquin (levofloxacin) falls under. ...Read more
I have numbness around lips and feet. I'm unsure as to what it is. I broke out with a rash around my neck area earlier after taking levofloxcin and ibuprofen. I then took benedryl to help with rash and now im experiencein numbness. What do I need to do?
See doctor: First we need to know why you are being treated with levofloxicin? Although the rash may be from the drug, the numbness is not. I recommend that you consult your doctor ASAP to be sure that you are not having a neurologic issue especially if the "infection" being treated is from a virus. Do stop both drugs until seen. ...Read more

See Urology: The treatment of choice is often azithromycin and cefixime to cover both gonorrhoeae and chlamydia. Fluoroquinolones are no longer recommended due to widespread resistance of gonorrhoeae to this class. Doxycycline may be used as an alternative to azithromycin. In chronic epididymitis, a four- to six-week course of antibiotics may be prescribed to ensure the complete eradication of any possible bacterial cause, especially the various chlamydiae. ...Read more

My third day of levofoxacin 75 mg for pneumonia. I feel worse than before, wasn't I suppose to start feeling better??
Discuss with Doctor: It is hard for us to answer your question as we do not know your clinical condtion. Most of the time it does take more than 2 days to feel better and the effectiveness of the antibiotics depends on the suspected organism or organism detected on culture. Levofloxin does not cover all the organisms causing most pneumonias. And at times we use two antibiotics to cover common organisms causing pneumonia. ...Read more

You don't want to have the infection come right back because it wasn't treated thoroughly enough. ...Read more
