Leukocytes Yeast Infection Urine
White blood cells: Leukocytes is the fancy term for white blood cells. Leukocytes can be present when there is inflammation or other immune system response even if there is no evidence of infection. This could be because the infection is not detected (i.E virus not tested for) or it is not an infection but some other cause of inflammation (injury, autoimmune, etc.). See your doctor for further assistance. ...Read more

There should not: Be a white discharge from the vagina from a urinary tract infection. However, if you have a yeast or other type of infection it may be irritating the urethra and causing symptoms. Sometimes the discharge isn’t apparent. ...Read more
Burnin'Urine?: Depends on how the urine was collected from you. Even under ideal circumstances (using a catheter) a few white cells can bounce into the urine. And it's downhill from there. It also depends on how many of them are in the urine and how that correlates with your symptoms. The short answer: strictly,No ...Read more
Could be either: Infection in the urinary tract often begins with a bladder infection; this may extend further "upstream" to involve the kidneys (but the kidneys could also be a primary source of infection). Either way, nitrates on the dipstick urinalysis usually is how's up as a "byproduct" of bacteria commonly infecting the urinary tract. A kidney infection is usually more symptomatic and more serious. ...Read more
UTI symptoms, urine culture negative, Blood test: WBC 13.4, absolute neutrophils 9.8. UTI or something else?
Urine; moderate WBC, no nitrites, culture <50k multiple non-uropathogenic gram positive bacteria. No symptoms. Possible contamination? Antibiotics??
Contaminant: Infection is when pathogens (bacteria for example) invade your tissues. This almost always produces signs which include redness, swelling, warmth and pain. In the absence of symptoms this is a contaminant or a colonization of your urinary tract. Note: Do not test urine without a good reason.... ...Read more

Had urine culture three weeks ago showed no growth had another one last week it showed yeast infection Why do both show high levels of WBC ?
Leukocytes in urine: WBCs are present in response to almost any form of inflammation. It sounds as if you have a UTI if the urine was collected by a clean midstream catch. If not, the yeast may have present in the urine through contamination from the vaginal secretions and if you have Candida vulvovaginitis that is probably the explanation. Hope this helps. ...Read more
My 6 yr old girl has a urinebsample taken everyrhing came back negative exceptq leukocyte esterase large A diagnosis yeast infection does this seem rt?
Hard to comment: Many urine collections at this age are a "squat pee".They are told to go in and pee in a container. The actual sample is both direct urine and pee that cycles throughout their vagina and drags along any additional debris within.I consider these worthless and studies thereon undependable. A proper "clean catch" or cath specimen is better. These results sound like a squat pee.I'd get a better study. ...Read more
Will yeast infections show leukocytes on a urineanalysis dipstick? I have a 4 year old daughter that constantly has large leukocytes in her urine?
?collection method ?: Most get pee at this age from having a kid pee in a cup.Unfortunately this squat pee is a vaginal washout mixed with pee and this can show leukocytes.I try to get moms to clean the area and get a labia spread (like a boy) pee if possible. If not a catheter specimen will bypass the washout effect.Kids with some stress or fever may show leukocytes in their pee, but it should not be a large amount ...Read more
Once every several days my urine is a little cloudy. I don't have simptoms of UTI or yeast infection.
Young people have: small amounts of protein that can look like white strands in the urine, often making it look cloudy. Asymptomatic microproteinuria is usually harmless and transient in young growing adults, but older adults should not have proteinuria. If you have no symptoms, I would not be too preoccupied with your urine, unless you see blood or pink tinge, or if you have itching/ pain on urination etc. ...Read more
I had a trace of protein in my urine, but i also have a yeast infection. Can a yeast infection cause this trace of protein?
Yes and no: If the urine also showed epithelial cells and white blood cells, then it is contaminated and the protein could be from that. If it is a clean, properly collected urine specimen then a vaginal yeast infection would not cause a change in the urine protein. Get it rechecked after you clear up the infection. ...Read more

See answer: Vaginal yeast infection usually associated with whitish vaginal discharge, redness, vaginal irritation/burning/itching. If discharge mixes with the urine after leaving the bladder then may give contaminated urine a cloudy appearance.
