See a psychiatrist: If your symptoms are relapsing while attempting to taper your alprazolam, you could see a psychiatrist for better treatment of those. This could be very valuable, especially if you haven't had a thorough evaluation before. My guess is that these are basic symptoms returning, rather than withdrawal symptoms -- but an in-person psychiatric consultation would provide better answers for you. ...Read more

More importantly, non-medicinal modalities & non-habit forming medications should be attempted first. ...Read more
Drug info states w/d from Xanax (alprazolam) can occur after short term low doses even one, true? Unclear on why I feel symptoms now, that never had before took it
Xanax (alprazolam) and anxiety: You would not be in withdrawal from xanax (alprazolam) after only 1 dose. However, it's possible to have a paradoxical agitated (rather than relaxed) reaction. If you've been taking xanax (alprazolam) regularly and then stop, you can have withdrawal symptoms that overlap with the symptoms you might have from anxiety itself. Extreme anxiety can also be part of a withdrawal syndrome. ...Read more

MD should guide you: If you have been taking alprazolam routinely you should taper off of the medication slowly and with the guidance of your doctor to avoid withdrawal issues. That should both minimize your body's adjustment to the discontinuation of alprazolam and allow any anxiety issues previously treated by the alprazolam to be identified and treated in another manner. ...Read more

No: No, body weight is not the primary factor in determining xanax (alprazolam) dose. One would need to know what other medications are also being prescribed, any ongoing other illnesses, whether the person has been habituated to other benzodiazepines, whether s/he uses alcohol, what the intensity of anxiety is, etc. For any of these or other reasons, xanax (alprazolam) may not be the most appropriate treatment at all. ...Read more
Hello, the dose of 0.125 mg of alprazolam will cause an effect? I would add that I am very thin, BMI 15.
I had a MRI today and given 6 xanax (alprazolam) tablets and I am on a daily dose 75 MG of amatripalyn. Will I be ok?
Most likely: It's not entirely clear what you're asking. The MRI itself should be harmless. Taking Xanax (alprazolam) as prescribed, even with your amitriptyline, should be fine (and help you relax). It's not a good idea to take Xanax (alprazolam) in higher doses or more often than prescribed. Of course, I don't know why you had the MRI in the first place, so I hope you'll be ok from the original problem too. Take care. ...Read more
