No: the upper age limit has to do with the fact that they stopped the original studies at that age. they did actually do studies for older women but since they didn't see much benefit they decided to keep the original age limit but as far as I know there weren't any adverse effects to the older women getting it ...Read more

Current recomendations are for ages between 9-26 so the vaccine will hopefully be given before the patient becomes sexually active.
