Vitamin/electrolytes: A lot of things may explain your symptoms, things like general fatigue poor nutrition and sleep with induced stress can alone explain what's going on with you. However other things like thyroid dysfunction electrolyte imbalances and vitamin deficiencies can also be checked for if your symptoms persist. Your physician can easily check for all of these by a simple blood test. Read more
My mom's first knee TKA was 3 weeks ago. All fine except problems regulating body temp esp at night. No fever. Post-surgical disruption?
Possibly: Older patients can definitely experience a variety of disruption of body functions after a hospitalization or surgery. With any chills or change in temperature in an elderly person, it is important to rule out infection, though, especially after a joint surgery. I would track her temperature and talk to her doctor, who may want to check her blood and urine for signs of infection. Read more

Doctor can evaluate: If strange sensations like chills are recurrent and only on one arm, one leg, or one section of the body, one can be evaluated by her primary care doctor. The concern is that the cause might be related to the nerves going to that part (s) of the body... which means the doctor might refer a patient to a neurologist or a physiatrist (physical medicine and rehabilitation doctor) if needed. I just noticed a patch of red, very slightly raised on my 4 1/2 month old's leg. She has no fever, but the spot itself feels warmer than the rest.
Have it checked.: The fact that the red patch just appeared and feels warmer suggests the beginning of an infection or a bite that may have occurred there. U may want to observe it for 12-24 hours if the baby is otherwise fine and feeding well with no fever. If the redness becomes larger and painful or the baby appears ill u shod see doctor right away.
