Is it normal for arms and legs to balloon up and stay puffy and sore for a few days after being in a warm pool?

Not normally: It's not normally for them to balloon or stay puffy unless you were exposed to something in the pool (allergy to chemicals in the pool) that caused the swelling. ...Read more

After sitting for a period of time i stand up and my right leg is very weak. It takes a couple of steps and then it gets better. What could be wrong?

Incomplete informati: Is there pain also associated in right leg when you stand up? Since you have " degenerative disc disease" it seems that you do have pain in leg. If so your weakness in right leg is likely to be due compression of sciatic nerve in sitting position which is temporary. Compression is relieved by standing and you feel better. ...Read more

After walking for a while then stopping, my ankles are stiff and sore. What is this?

After walking for a while then stopping, my ankles are stiff and sore. What is this?

Many possibilities: Depending on your weight, and any other medical conditions (diabetes, heart disease, high cholesterol, etc) will help a dr. Determine the true diagnosis/cause. It could be simple arthritis, or rheumatoid arthritis, or poor circulation just as a few examples. Check with your dr, and hopefully the DX will be forthcoming, so the treatment can follow-best wishes. ...Read more

I am 8 weeks pregnant and my tailbone is VERY sore. Standing or walking seems to exacerbate this while sitting alleviates. Is this normal so early?

I am 8 weeks pregnant and my tailbone is VERY sore. Standing or walking seems to exacerbate this while sitting alleviates. Is this normal so early?

Tailbone pain.: Tailbone pain at only 8 weeks would be a little unusual. However, if you have a retroverted (tilted backwards) uterus, it may be pushing on the tailbone as it start to grow. If it doesn't get better, though, you will need to see your OB and make sure you don't have a trapped uterus. It is rare and usually doesn't present until about 16 weeks. ...Read more

I masturbate and i do it for a longer, means by watching porn for a while. after masturbation where is pain in my legs and stiffed for next 2 weeks.

I masturbate and i do it for a longer, means by watching porn for a while. after masturbation where is pain in my legs and stiffed for next 2 weeks.

Uncertain Q?: If by "longer" you mean hours, and your legs are in the same position for that entire time, that might create the pain and 'stiffness' you describe. In any event, it sounds as though you need to change something--likely your position every few minutes while distracted. Also, be certain to not let it interfere with a normal social life. ...Read more

I am still having swelling a week and a half after my doctor said it was healed, is this normal? There is also slight pain every once in a while.

I'm really sorry...: I'd like to answer this, but it really makes a difference what part of your body was injured and swollen! A finger is really different from a knee or a testicle! Write back and help us focus on where the problem was/is. Good wishes:) ...Read more

Pain in 3/4th metatarsal of left foot? especially bad after sitting for a while. not as painful once Im up and about. could this be a stress fracture?

It could but: One would expect it to hurt more when walking then sitting. A neuroma is another possibility given the location you describe. A foot doctor based on an exam should be able to make the diagnosis. Xrays could help make the diagnosis. ...Read more

Been in bed rest for a few months. And been standing up and walking for a few. The more I do this the better I will be right? It's not dangerous?

Been in bed rest for a few months. And been standing up and walking for a few. The more I do this the better I will be right? It's not dangerous?

Maybe: Bed rest for a few months? You left out WHY you were on bed rest? I presume you saw a medical professional who advised it... In most cases walking etc("physical therapy") is absolutely advised for recovery from many things eg. post surgery to heart attack to acute infections. On the other hand - some conditions like brain hemorrhage, vitreous eye surgery, high risk birth may require extended rest ...Read more

Tricky: cannot say in your particular case, but generally, these are sprained tendons and get better in hours to a day with rest and anti-inflammatories. Perhaps icing it. Gradually increasing the range of motion when the pain goes down a bit is often done. ...Read more

I feel weak almost every afternoon and often with a hard pain on my hips. No fever, blood tests ok. Is this a consequence of a bacteria or infection?

Probably not: Weakness and hip pain can be many things including peripheral nerve problems or even spinal cord impingement you can also be a repair mechanism from an autoimmune disorder or viral illness it's also very likely that it could be arthritic pain all these make more sense than that being a bilateral bacterial infection. ...Read more

My mother is 60 and at a normal weight. Is it normal for her legs to cramp, and for her ankle and foot to become swollen standing for a long period.?

My mother is 60 and at a normal weight. Is it normal for her legs to cramp, and for her ankle and foot to become swollen standing for a long period.?

Difficult to say: Although the cause of swelling and cramping is often difficult to figure out, i agree with your hesitation to accept that this is normal if her weight and activity level are also normal, especially if this started suddenly. Make sure her kidneys, liver, and heart are doing well. If so, often times a vascular medicine doctor can get to the bottom of this quickly - or at least reassure you. ...Read more
