In adolescence, most people don't realize that they aren't invulnerable or that harm can happen to them. Two problems: 1) how do you stop underage drinking and driving. Motor vehicle crashes from dwi are a terrible problem and adding younger drivers, drinking, will increase that. 2) how do you stop the less than 18 year old crew from drinking? It depends.....: The drinking age was 18 until the reagan administration. Then it was pushed up to 21. There are 2 trains of thought here: 1) people under 21 are not mature enough to handle alcohol responsibly, 2) anyone old enough to go to war and fight/die for their country should have legal rights of an adult.
