Leg Thigh Pain Fever Chills Running Nose
My two year old son has red bumps under his chin and his arm and leg and he itches. He is coughing, running nose, fever what could this be?
Mild Virus: This pattern suggests a mild virus with an allergic component (itchy rash). Support the child with fluids, Tylenol (acetaminophen) for the fever, and Benadryl for the itching if it bothers the child enough. If the fever lasts more than 2 days take your son to his doctor to be checked. ...Read more
Before answering this question, it would be better to define what exactly is meant by the term "upper leg". Orthopaedic surgeons (and others) typically use the term "thigh" to mean the area between the hip and the knee. They use the term "leg" to mean the area between the knee and the ankle. Thus, it is important to specify whether we are discussing pain just below the hip or ...Read more

My husbad (30yr old) is getting fever through chills. He had running nose and is getting fever through chills. Please advise. Thanks?
Rigors: You may be in the process of having a cold before the fevers. Drink plenty of liquids and take a tylenol (acetaminophen) and that will help with the chills if it is a cold. The tylenol (acetaminophen) will also help relieve any pain you may have. For the nose, try some sudafed. This will stop the drainage. Feel better! Good health to you. ...Read more

Respiratory infectio: This sounds like your classic respiratory tract infection. 37degC fever for 8 days, body aches, running nose for 4 days, neck ache but no headache. Is it normal to have a fever for so long?
Be aware: That 37 degrees celsius is considered within the range of normal. While everyone runs at slightly different baseline temperatures it would be uncommon that 37oC would be considered a fever. Nonetheless it doesn't mean that you don't have something going on, but it possible it is just a nonspecific viral illness. My 2.7year old son has a bad cold, running nose (mucus) and cough. No fever. Unable to sleep properly since 3-4days now. What medicine to give?
Not much: For a child this young, I would recommend against any prescription cough/cold medications and even over the counter cough/cold meds as these can have significant side effects and are not shown to be effective. Different way: The runny nose from allergies is often controlled by antihistamine (tablet or spray) and nasal steroid. My daughter is 1 year old. She has a running nose, congested, coughing, fevers, and vomits when she drinks milk. What can I do and give her to help?
Probably viral: Most colds in children are viral, and there is no cure (as compared to bacterial infections, for which we can use antibiotics).
