Inflammatory?: You need to know if is inflammatory and a sedimentary rate, RA factor, and nuclear scan can rule this out. If not inflammatory, the pain pattern suggests sacroiliac joint (sij) dysfunction, which cannot be seen on ct and MRI scans nor any other imaging study, as reported in the medical literature. Diagnosis of sij disorder is done by means of a fluroscopic guided diagnostic block of the sij. ...Read more

Broad differential: Leg pain has a broad differential, but the most common orthopedic reason is related to back problems. Since I see you are 26 it is unlikely that you have a vascular problem, which leaves something neurogenic or rheumatologic. Since the differential diagnosis is so broad, I recommend you start with your family practitioner to narrow the differential. ...Read more

I am having lower leg pain in my right outer leg. It doesn't hurt when I jog but when I walk afterwards. After awhile stops and is sore?
Be seen: Multiple possibilities, I would not hesitate to be seen for a specific diagnosis. Among the three more common causes are something wrong with the hip itself, or a Tendonitis of the tendon that runs on the outside of the hip often referred to as iliotibial band syndrome, or an irritation if a nerve in the back causing pain that runs into the hip and leg; other possibilities as well. ...Read more
If you never really exercise or go for a walk, and then start walking long periods can that cause right leg pain, I'm not overweight?
You don't have to be: overweight to experience leg pain from over walking or overexerting yourself when you start exercising after not doing it before. Usually, it's best to warm up, and do some stretching (leg) exercises, so you don't strain yourself when you first start out. Also, hydrate so you don't get cramps from dehydration, or electrolye deficiency. I see that you take caffeine tablets. That could dehydrate you 2. ...Read more
I have leg pain when I walk with heavy things on my back. Is it related to back problems? I injured my back a few years ago, not very severely.
Leg pain w/ loads:
Yes, possibly. Sometimes sciatica manifest in the leg and not the back. Would avoid head loads. Heavy back packs. Consider kinesiotape, PT for strengthening exercises. Stretches, massage. Check arches for flat feet and use orthodics.

Possibly, so ask Dr:
I'll give a link to a long list of side effects, but definitely ask your doctor and try to find an alternative treatment. In addition to medical procedures and rx, you might find some additional support in cbt therapy or learning meditation/relaxation skills. They can't hurt and have no side effects. Http://www. Drugs. If: If your mother's bone scan of the hip did not show any signs of loosening of the hip implant, then I think it is unlikely that her pain is coming from the hip. I would be more concerned about her spinal stenosis. Narrowing of the spinal canal (stenosis) often causes numbness, tingling, and burning pain in the legs. These symptoms can often be relieved with an operation to decompress the pinched nerve roots. I think you should take your mother to an orthopaedic spine surgeon. If you can't find anyone close to home, consider pittsburgh, morgantown, or columbus. Be sure to bring all of her xrays and bone scans (images, not just the reports). Good luck. ...Read more

Muscle or tendon: Probably a muscle or tendon injury. An injury to the Achilles tendon or calf muscles can give similar symptoms. Tightness may indicate edema or hematoma in deep soft tissues (ie: muscles). Sometimes a knee injury with a joint effusion can be the cause. Please see your Doctor or a Sports Medicine or Orthopedic Specialist for further evaluation. ...Read more
