What does heavy bleeding after embryo transfer indicate?

Several things: Bleeding 2 weeks post transfer can be caused by a friable, or cervix that's bleed easy, a small bleed behind the gestational sac, following intercourse, the loss of a twin and/or signs of an early miscarriage. If you have any bleeding, contact your doctor immediately. And remember, it may not be a bad sign. Probably would consider starting Progesterone to help quiet the uterus. Good luck. ...Read more

It is normal to have spotting and cramps days after embryo transfer?

It depends: If the transfer was difficult, a tenaculum needed, or if there was a wide ectropion of the cervix bleeding could have been stirred up with the procedure. Sometimes we see bleeding/ spotting with vaginal Progesterone use. The cramping may be due to other causes such as ovarian enlargement and not of uterine etiology. I would recommed calling your ivf program to discuss with them. ...Read more

I have done IVF and I'm in day 12 after embryo transfer. I 'm bleeding and pains comes and goes. How can I know the embryo is falling out? Thank u

Always a possibility: Honestly, by day 12 after et, you should have already done a pregnancy test and know whether ivf was successful or not. If the test was positive, that is a good sign and sometimes the bleeding is do to losing a twin or a tear in a small cervical or uterine vessel. Unfortunately, these are less likely and ivf probably did not work. The pg test is the key. Good luck and I hope this helps. ...Read more
