Leg Muscle Twitching At Rest
Neck. Pain shoulder pain scaping and cracking and popping when I turn my head plus been having painless. Muscle twitching in legs when at rest?
Neck pain: The crackling and popping in the neck are the facet joints in the cervical spine that are akin to cracking your knuckles. That is not a concern. What is a concern is the neck and shoulder pain associated with twitching or cramping in the legs. This may be a sign of pressure on the spinal cord from a disc. An MRI of the cervical spine and an evaluation with a neurosurgeon would be a good decision. ...Read more
It is a body tissue that has the ability to contract. It shortens and generates force. It relaxes and returns to its original length. Muscles move joints, stabilize the body, move air and food through the organs, act as valves for bladder, bowel and other organs. They control movement of the eyes. They help us express ourselves by changing the shape of our ...Read more

Thigh muscles ache/twitch after flu shot 4 days ago. Took blood labs no abnormalities. Neuro test reflexes/strength successfully. Told to rest legs and drink plenty of fluids, in 2 weeks emg. Opinions?
Sounds accurate: Cannot imagine a neurologic reaction to flu vaccine except that there have been some cases of guillion-barre syndrome (a form of ascending paralysis) associated rarely with vaccinations. The recommendation you received is good as long as you follow up quickly if you are not getting better and definitely if you develop any other symptoms. ...Read more
My thigh muscle twitch when resting. I work out and the twitching is above my arthritic knee. What causes this? It only twitches during rest.
Muscle twitching occurs when individual fibers of the muscle spontaneously contract. This is common after changes in exercise regimen, changes in blood chemistry, and changes in nerve supply.
It is very common when implementing newer exercises or with irregular exercise frequencies. It is also common with changing the resistance in work outs. ...Read more
Had all over muscle twitching for 4 months. I feel a one-time twitch in one part of my body and then it moves to another. Mostly legs. Bad or benign?
Fasciculation: May be either or both. Twitching is related to involuntary movement of the muscle under the skin. The majority are benign and most or all people have at one time or another. It may be associated with diseases of the motor neuron, such as als. If persisting would have evaluated to a degree that it is concerning would have a neurologic evaluation. ...Read more

Yes- it is possible: It depends on what nerves and what muscles. If you were to say however the twitching is all over, it may not be fair to say it came from the back. Do you know if you have pinched nerves in the back, or do you have twitching only? Where is the twitching, and how much is there? Maybe start by answering those last two questions. Good luck! ...Read more

Correlation muscle twitching throughout body developed 6 years ago, followed by low extrem tightness months later to unilateral low leg swelling 2013?
One leg swelling:
Does not tie into the previous two problems (atrophy could)
Swelling can be caused by leaky vessels, tissue injury, deep vein thrombosis, clogged lymphatics, bleeding into the leg, etc. Twitching followed by tightness of muscles obviates a good neurological assessment. ...Read more
I left strenght training 3 months ago. Now there are muscle twitching in my whole body, no weakness, no atrophy. But nowthere are pins & needle (leg)?
One possibility..: Although rare, there is a neurologic condition, benign fasciculation syndrome characterized by twitches, cramping, tingling without weakness (that is a quick summary). See a neurologist or a physiatrist for evaluation to be sure. Whether it is this or something else, physical exam can reveal a lot. It could be a simple electrolyte imbalance. If neurologic, the nerves can be tested easily. ...Read more

Could there be a connection between the muscle twitching throughout my body and the unilateral leg swelling below the knee? Neurological?
Highly doubt it:
You basically outlined the answer and its rationale in your question....Bravo....that's an artistic flare.
Something focal vs. Something generalized and not only that but we're talking about symptoms that little to nothing in common with each other.....twitching or possibly muscle fasciculations vs. Swelling or edema. The question is what is the edema or swelling due to? Trauma, infectious dz? ...Read more
Had FSGS for ten years. Legs/wrists have cramps, calves non stop muscle twitching, test results ok. Why muscle twitching? How can I stop it?
Define FSGS: Statins are always suspicious in this setting. You can try Quinine but your insurance copy may not allow this for leg cramps. The FDA it only allows this to treat malaria but we have used it for 40 or more years for nocturnal leg cramps A lot of people have success with magnesium supplementation and this may be an approach. ...Read more
Been having muscle twitching in arms, peitoral muscles, abdomen and legs for 2 or 4 years now, very frequent, happen several times a day for some seconds each. What should I do?

For the past 4 months, I've been having muscle twitching in my arms and legs and knee collapsing. Does this need to be evaluated or can I let it be?
Get it evaluated: That's my opinion. You could get some labs done and a good neuromuscular examination (maybe by a good neurologist) and get appropriate diagnostic testing. You could have a condition known as benign fasciculations but if your knees are collapsing then, you should go in for medical attention. ...Read more
