I have a medium to small lump right above the left side of my ankle on my left leg. It is not painful at all. Any ideas of what it is?

I have a medium: It could be a cyst which is filled with fluid and can happen after an injury or almost jello type tissue if you have had it for a while or a lipoma, that consists of fatty tissue , both cause no problems. However, if the lump is getting bigger or is not going away, best to see a podiatrist or a surgeon , get an ultrasound and/or an MRI to find exactly what it is. ...Read more

I have hemihypertrophy on my right leg. One lump on knee two on right side of leg. Searing pain in calf plus pitting edema in ankle. Is this urgent?

Could be serious.: Hemihypertrophy can mean a difference in length of the leg as well as girth of the leg. I believe in playing it safe since failure to treat could have devastating consequences. ...Read more

If the swelling is in your knee/ankle joint and you have difficulty with movement, then this needs to be evaluated by a physician for any ligament injury. Overtime, this lump should get smaller, given that it persists for over a month, you need to have it examined by a physician to be certain it is nothing sinister. ...Read more
