Leg Extensions After A Knee Replacement
Is knee locking common when bending your knee after straight legs raises (physio) to another exercise; 11 days post op from partial meniscectomy?

If an anterior approach is used, hyperextension combined with rotating the foot outward can be a problem. If a posterior approach is used, the risky move is hip flexion (bringing hip up to chest) combined with internal rotation. Eventually, most are safe. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Varies : There are several possibilities, I would certainly let your surgeon know. A change in the relative tension between your extensor mechanism (which includes your patellafemoral joint) and your stabiling structures in the back of the knee can be one cause. Again, I would make your surgeon aware you are having this problem. ...Read more

Yes, but not often: Knee replacements can feel like "seizing" or "locking up" on rare occasions and they are usually not due to the device. I look at the brace to protect from injury while up & about, so if you misstep the brace will keep you from flexing beyond what you have obtained in PT ...Read more
