What liver conditions can cause tiny spider like veins. I have fatty mildly enlarged liver and cholesteral storage . Alt 64. Ast 50 the rest norm.
Cirrhosis: All severe liver disease can give spider like veins. The number often correlated with the degree of cirrhosis. Believed to be related to degree of estrogen in circulation. However, your numbers and "mild" enlarged liver do not sound like they are the source of your spider angioma. ...Read more
Dad has heart, lung, liver and renal failure (renal function under 10%). Drs have now found primary liver cancer. How long left? Days/weeks/months?
Soon: I'm sorry you are going through this. It doesn't sound like there is much time left, probably 'weeks" timeframe depending on how aggressive supportive care is regarding IV fluids, dialysis, medications, and respiratory support with oxygen or a breathing machine. There is of course no way to predict for sure, and his doctor will be ae to give a better answer. Hang in there. ...Read more
Elevated lfts been on crestor (rosuvastatin) 1yr+ dr suspects liver damage worried crazy. Liver ultrasound schd 10 days. Is it serious?
Ct w/contrast. Low attenuation throughout the hepatic parenchyma. Blood is ALKP 90 ALT 45 AST 28 CRP 1.7. Do I have liver cancer?
Not the right tests: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Having said that, the tests you reported on are not correct ones for diagnosing liver cancer. Serum alpha feto protein level may help. From the info you provided, it is unlikely that you have liver cancer. ...Read more
Amyloidosis, all my symptoms , heart, liver high ggt, brain, neurological, gasrto and urinary, lungs. GFR not released, what is the genetic blood test?
Self-diagnosis?: Amyloidosis can mimic anything. It's not especially treatable so there's no hurry diagnosing it. Ask about a serum protein electrophoresis and urine test for Bence-Jones for amyloid AL. Amyoid AF is a neuropathy / pain syndrome and I wouldn't waste the money. Amyloid AA labwork isn't specific; it's rare in the absence of leprosy etc. I'd have a fat biopsy -- maybe you actually do have it. ...Read more
My ultrasound said abnormal resistive index on r kidney suggesting medical renal disease or renal stenosis. My kidney blood levels were all low?
High Resistive Index: I have two questions, why did your doctor order a resistive index on you? Do you have hypertension (BP) that is difficult to control? If you do not have any bp, then you likely do not have a renal artery stenosis (ras). If you do have bp, you may need a renal artery angiogram to see if your BP is caused by a ras. See a nephrologist for more answers. Good luck. ...Read more

Ace levels high, liver enzymes high, possible sarcoidosis dx, can sarcoidosis cause fatty liver on ultrasound. Dr scheduling liver& lymph biopsy.
Sarcoidosis - Liver: The most common radiographic finding of hepatic sarcoidosis is hepatomegaly. Ultrasound can show diffuse increased homogeneous or heterogeneous echogenicity in hepatic sarcoidosis appearing similar to fatty liver. Focal liver nodules (thought to represent coalescence of small granulomas) can also be seen in hepatic sarcoidosis. Liver involvement by sarcoidosis typically responds well to steroids. ...Read more
