Unilateral lower leg swelling. Wear compression socks and elevate feet for saphenous reflux, leg remains same size. Might swelling not be vascular?

Unilateral lower leg swelling. Wear compression socks and elevate feet for saphenous reflux, leg remains same size. Might swelling not be vascular?

No: you have venous stasis. Any other swelling can be like abscess formation, muscle herniation. Fracture, and if you have the above trust me you will know it right away. My advice if you have good arterial flow get 30-40mmHg compression sock and use them. Cut salt from diet and elevate feet when at rest ...Read more

May thurner: many possible reasons. Abi being normal would eliminate arterial disease and usually not swelling. An ultrasound should be used to rule out a deep venous thrombosis. May thrurner syndrome can occur if a clot or major artery sits on top of a vein causing venous swelling. Can occur in women. Hope this helps. Thank you for turning to health top. ...Read more

Vein in my arm was punctured multiple times. 5min afterwards a dark purple bruise surfaced.A lot of pain wen moving arm now.Collapsed vein or abscess?

Hematoma: What your are describing sounds like a hematoma which is escaped blood from the vein which has accumulated in the tissue around the vein. This is why the skin is bruised (black and blue). The pain is from the irritation from the multiple needle sticks. Apply ice for the first 48 hours then heat. Ibuprofen will also help. This should resolve over about one week. ...Read more

two screws to fix foot 7 weeks ago. Severe calf, ankle and knee pain in affected leg. No redness or warmth just awful pain. On blood thinners 9 weeks?

The nuts and bolts.: When a patient has calf pain after foot surgery concern is raised as to a possible clot or inflamed blood vessel. Having said that, similar symptoms can occur, especially weeks after the surgery, from keeping the foot and/or ankle in a unfamiliar position of immobilization. It is best to talk to your surgeon and have him get down to the nuts and bolts of your symptoms. ...Read more

Lower leg swelling knee and below. Injured knee 3 days ago.Have been wraping it.Took off wraps to find swelling . E.R. Or wait female 54 working out caused sore knee thus now swelling after wrapping

The : The swelling may be due to the wrap preventing appropriate circulation and fluid return in the lower leg. We call this edema. I would recommend that you see your primary care doctor for evaluation of your knee injury to rule out a sprain or tear in the supporting structures. It is unlikley that you have a clot in your leg but this can also be assessed. ...Read more

Recent bulge vein. Outside calf sore to touch. Worse when standing. I'm 57, in bed alot due to back trouble.

Vein bulge: Bulging veins are usually superficial and can be a phelbitis which needs antibiotics, but there is also concern since you are in the bed a lot that there is a deep vein clot( thrombosis) as your calf is tender and you are sedentary . Clots can move to the lung and compromise breathing . You need an ultrasound of your entire leg. Go to ER today . ...Read more

Non occlusive blood clot left leg. Got in shower, slipped on shower mat, hit left shin against shower rail. Bruise and and slight bump. Dislodge possib?

Possible: Clots below the knee only usually do not cause symptoms or significant problem even if they dislodge as they are too small to cause . Some experts do not even recommend blood thinners for this kind of clots as they often dissolve on their own. You should continue full activity as normal as this hastens improvement. If you have a lot of symptoms then short course of blood thinner is seasonable.. ...Read more

There are two round, red wounds on my leg that just won't heal with a white center. no drainage, just weeping slightly. Not itchy, getting bigger thou?

89 diagnosis w/ lymphadenopathy. Somewhat active, slightly overweight. Noticed clear drainage from back of calf. Leg was wrapped for 2 weeks. No trauma?

Leg drainage: Sometimes when there is extensive swelling of an extremity, it can "weep" clear discharge. I'd be concerned, however, about an infection given the lymphadenopathy. Is there any pain in the area of the leg where the discharge is happening? Is the discharge from one particular spot? If this hasn't been checked by a doctor yet, i wouldn't let it go on much longer before getting it looked at. ...Read more

I have an IUD it's been in for over a year and recently instead of a period I have a pasty pink discharge . No odor but I have back and leg pains?

Pelvic infection?: As always, i try to think: "what is the most serious condition associated with these symptoms?" I have to assume that the pink discharge is bleeding. And back and leg pains can be symptoms associated with pelvic inflammatory disease. This is, of course, treatable. But you must be examined to be certain what's going on . Good luck.
