I know it is really: Surprising when your period is late when it is usually very predictably on time. But with a negative pregnancy test taken after the day you expected your period, it is still highly likely you are not pregnant. Stress, illness, medications, changes in general (the holidays!) all affect your hormones and menstrual pattern. If no menses in another week, test again. Good wishes:) ...Read more

I am sopouse to have my period today but there is no sign I have been having leg cramps and white creamy discharge could I be pregnant?

Maybe: It can be hard to guess whether a woman is pregnant or not. A urine pregnancy test, done correctly, gives a reliable result 3 weeks after sex (3 weeks after when conception might have occurred), or 1 week after missing a period, or after having a "weird" period. If done sooner, a positive result is likely real, but a negative result may be due to testing too soon, and thus lead to a repeat test. ...Read more

Irregular periods: Irregular periods are one of the most common problems obgyns treat. If this is one time problem it usually resolves on its own. If this is a recurring problem you should be evaluated. Infections, polyps, fibroids and hormonal changes can cause. Since your tubes are tied there are many options to help with painful, heavy or irregular periods. Discuss with your obgyn ...Read more

Leg cramps: Hello. Some of my patients drink a cup of tonic water or club soda before they go to bed because of the quinine sulfate in these fluids. It is rare to find quinine sulfate pills over the counter (OTC). Some of these sound strange but work for some patients. Home remedies: eating 1Tbsp of mustard, drink apple cider vinegar, applying horse liniment etc. OTC magnesium is good for cramps AND sleep. ...Read more

2yrs on mirena (levonorgestrel) but have nausea tired and leg cramps little to no period last month. Usually my period is heavier, Could I be pregnant?

Probably not: Probably not if the Mirena (levonorgestrel) is in place. I'm concerned, however, because you are having heavy periods. You need to be checked to make sure the IUD is in the right place, and a pregnancy test to make sure you're not pregnant. ...Read more

I have sore breast leg cramps low stomach cramps off Depo-Provera for six months spotted last month due for period tomorrow hpt negative hungry more pee a lot?

Well, among other: Things I think u have a bladder infection. It would explain a lot of the cramping. The breast soreness is related to changing hormones. You had a buffer with the depo-provera because your ovaries were not producing estrogen. The leg pain may be referred from the bladder or uterus but if u have a swollen leg and difficulty walking it could be a blood clot. That's unlikely but I would see doc. ...Read more

Iam having leg cramps what should I do I may have periods in a few days I have oedema due to vascular reasons I have backache too?

2 out of 3 ain't bad: Let me see, 35 years old, with leg cramps, edema and possibly a sick back. There is a possibility that you have three separate and unrelated problems, but I doubt it. More than likely at least two and possibly three of these symptoms are connected. I suggest that you have a work up by your family physician and a possible referral to an orthopedist. ...Read more

2 week missed periods, and white discharge from the vagina, leg cramps, and fast heart beat. What could be the reason? Pregnancy?

Don’t guess.: Take a test.  they are the same tests used in a doctors office. They can detect a pregnancy 7-10 days after conception. The best time to take one is when you miss your period.  if you doubt the result you can repeat it in 1-2 days. If you were pregnant the hormone level would rise enough for detection. ...Read more

Period 6 days late, neg test, lower back pain stomach ache sore boobs leg cramp and headache, could I be pregnant when urine test was negative?

Maybe not, but...: Symptoms such as nausea (with or without vomiting), some fatigue (feeling less energetic), a sharper/stronger sense of smell, mild soreness/swelling of the breasts, and maybe some food aversions and cravings, can happen with other conditions, not just with pregnancy. However, if the pregnancy test was done less than 2 weeks after possible conception, a woman can repeat the test a week later. ...Read more

Leg pain I have leg cramps often, sometimes very painfull. One night I was up all night. About 4am I heard a pop and unberable pain for a few min. S the cramp didnot stop for 2 days.

Leg: Leg cramps occur frequently and awaken many people. They are sometimes related to circulation problems, wearing high heeled shoes, spending a lot of time sitting and other activities that shorten the calf muscles. Doctors used to prescribe quinine for the cramps but fda no longer approves of this use. A paper in the new england journal of medicine about thirty years ago suggested leg stretches at bed-time. Stand up against the wall with one foot in front of the other and bend the front knee while keeping the back knee stiff. This stretches the gastrocnemius muscle in the back of the leg. I usually suggest calcium/magnesium tablets as well. If the cramps are in the front and back of the leg at the same time, I usually push hard on the cramped area to make the cramp stop. If you try to stretch one muscle out, the other uscle will cramp more. You may have popped some of the fibers with a severe cramp. The reason it lasted so long was that you may have had some bleeding into the muscle causing irritation. Depending on your age it also would be wise to see your doctor for blood work to check for inbalance of salts in your blood or abnormalities in calcium levels.
Good luck in resolving this really common and annoying problem. ...Read more

Go see your doctor: Review your medications w/your doc after telling her/him what bothers you. Any diuretics (water pills)? These can upset your electrolye balance leading to cramps. We used to recommend quinine for leg cramps but it's not easily available, nor inexpensive these days. You could try drinking tonic water, perhaps. Stretching is always helpful.
