Irregular period: Sounds like you are having some spotting between periods. This can happen to any woman. Nobody has completely regular cycles all the time. Get it checked out: There can be a lot of things causing left lower abdominal pain including constipation, infection, colitis, kidney stone, bladder stone, and many more. The only way to tell is with a careful history and examination. Also some tests like x-rays, ct scans, and/or blood tests may be needed to narrow it down. 12 hours is a long time. Pain: Pain in the left lower abdomen always raises the possibility of a condition called diverticulitis. This would be more likely if you had pain with eating and fever. How is your bowels: how is your bowels , will be my first question. if you are having constipation that is your answer. in spite of your young age you have to be careful about diverticulosis. being female your ovaries might be playing big part of your problem, you might need to see a doctor for an ultrasound to make sure you are not having an ovarian cyst. apply heat pad. keep your bowels regular, hydrate yourself. ...Read more

Need more detail: Difficult to answer with so little detail, but it could be acid reflux, aka gerd. Treatment would be antacids or proton pump inhibitors, if that is the cause.
