Not very significant: Slight increase in RBC's may be a compensatory reaction to blood loss either external from injury or internal like a bleeding ulcer. Are borderline low platelets (174x10E3/ul) and 2 petechiae on abdomen suggestive of leukemia? WBC, RBC, differential all normal and feel fine. Thanks!
Not leukemia: Petechiae due to low platelets would require a much lower platelet count, under 20,000 or so and often lower than that. So whatever the marks on your abdomen, they aren't petechiae due to low platelets. And with the rest of your blood counts normal, leukemia should not be on your mind. See your doctor if you remain concerned, but I see no reason for worry. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
My blood test showed high (only just within normal range) nucleated red blood cells should I worry? Went with chest, back and stomach pain.
No worry: If rest of the test results were normal, a few nucleated red cells is not a reason to worry. Node on the back of my neck that enlarges at night and gets smaller. CBC showed high normal RBC, hematoctrits, hemoglobin. Noticed bruises on arm leg?
Keep an eye on it: Benign enlargement of neck nodes is not uncommon. Unless it is growing in size and becomes larger than 1 Cm, I would ask you to ignore it. Do not check it daily as your own fingers pressing and poking on it will cause trauma and make the lymph node larger. So check it once every 1 or 2 weeks and take note of size. Bruises are of no consequence unless your platelet count is 150k) ...Read more
