Doctor insights on:
Left Parietal Hematoma
Different: A hematoma is like a bruise or collection of blood from a trauma. In parietal hematoma this is in the parietal lobe of the brain, so it is in the brain tissue itself. A subdural hematoma is just under the dura mater one of the coverings of the brain so it is up close to the skull.
Hematoma- blood coll: Hematoma is collection of blood somewhere in the body...anywhere in the body....it's called a hematoma. Parietal tells us the location (Parietal lobe of the brain) usually due to high blood pressure while Subdural hematoma means collection of blood below the level of the DURAL cover of the covering of the brain called the meninges...often times traumatic cause but also often can be spontaneous.
What do you mean by: 1. Scalp hematoma, left parietal region 2, cerebral contusion left parietal lobe 3. Cerebral contusion left base cerebral hemisph?
Scalp hematoma: Scalp hematoma is a bleeding underneath the scalp in the upper left region of the skull. The contusion is in the same region and is a brusing and bleeding in the brain. #3. Is another bruising or bleeding on the left side of the brain but lower down towards the base of the skull. These injuries sound like there are a result of head trauma.See 1 more doctor answer
My daughter's usg brain report says "A scalp hematoma measuring 11.3 x 3.5 mms is seen over the left parietal area."I am afraid. What should I do.
Puzzling question: A scalp hematoma means there is a collection of blood under the skin of the scalp. This usually reflects a broken blood vessel from trauma. It usually hurts, can persist for days or weeks, but has little if any importance. It is not by itself any sort of brain injury. It is not inside the skull.
Not likely.: A hemangioma is a slow-growing benign vascular (blood vessel) lesion. The blood vessels just grow that way sometimes. A bruise is caused by leakage of blood from one or more capillaries (the tiniest blood vessels), usually due to an injury.

Of what, where?: A hematoma is a bruise, and in muscle is like a "charley horse" or similar soreness that is worsened by moving it, so yes, this can be normal. It should improve with cold compresses for couple of days, then switch to warm. If pain not near site, if persists or worsens, or if get fever or new symptoms, see dr for evaluation.See 1 more doctor answer

Hi I had received a hematoma on my chin during the summer and it had healed considerably well although there is still more to heal. What is left is pi?
Will resolve: With time hematoma will disappear in couple of wks, leave it alone, need drainage only when it causes obstruction to structure.
Maybe indefinitely: Depending upon location, character, size, and certainly, how long ago this occurred, if a patient has had a good recovery and is being treated to prevent recurrence, may do well for years. Did you ask this question of your doctors, as they know you best?
Yes: You can use provided you don't wear it too tightly or for too long a period of timr.
A small case fell over on my left outside ankle causing a hematoma. It's about 1/2 the size of golf ball, did not hit hard.
Watch and wait: You may watch and wait. If the site becomes red, painful, develops a discharge or you get fever, see a doctor. If it has been more than 24 hours since the injury you may apply warm compress.
I had trauma to my penis 3 days ago which left a large hematoma. Now 3 days later there is a hard linear ridge on the topside of my penis??
Watch & see...: Sorry to hear such. How did this happen accidentally or during sex? At this time, i.e., 3 days after injury, it would be reasonable to watch, wait, & see how the nature may take its course to evolve and heal. To state something more accurately, one needs more info. Large hematoma involving deep tissues on left thigh laterally measuring 4 × 9 × 12 cm. Do I need to see specialist or wil this go away? 1mo ago
Hematoma: It will eventually resolve but it could take several months if it becomes painful you should see a physician as it could become infected and require evacuation
Trauma: If there is no sensation on the left side, and if it is paralzyzed, then it is much more likely to bump into objects and suffer injury that causes the hematoma.

Subungual hematoma; left index, how long until nail falls off? Lots of blood accumulating under nail. Black in colour. Severely painful and swollen.
Trephination: Ouch! Go see your family doc about this condition, the sooner the better. S/he can make a hole (trephinate) in your nail allowing blood to escape, thus relieving pressure & pain. No anesthesia needed. Instant pain relief w/very dramatic release of blood build up. Check out http://emedicine. Medscape. Com/article/82926-overview for more info.
