The : The swelling may be due to the wrap preventing appropriate circulation and fluid return in the lower leg. We call this edema. I would recommend that you see your primary care doctor for evaluation of your knee injury to rule out a sprain or tear in the supporting structures. Something focal vs. something generalized and not only that but we're talking about symptoms that little to nothing in common with each other.....twitching or possibly muscle fasciculations vs. swelling or edema. The question is what is the edema or swelling due to? Trauma, infectious dz? ...Read more

Think I have gout in my knee. Painful to straighten leg, swelling in leg, can't walk, seems fine when I sit down. Taking ibuprofen. Been 3 days now.

Unclear: Gout is a disease of older men or post-menopausal women, which usually first presents with exquisite pain, swelling, and redness of the great toe. Episodes last for a few days, but usually resolve completely on their own. If gout is not treated, over years it can begin to affect other joints. Could be venous: I am assuming you had heart cath via your femoral artery and vein and you had heart coronary angioplasty and stent your leg swelling is from the vein in the legs DVT already ruled out by negative test you need leg elevation and pressure support stocking to minimize the swelling check with your doctor good luck ...Read more
