Possibly, slowly: It sounds like you cut your finger deep enough to nick a superficial (near skin surface) nerve fiber that control sensation. That would mean cut is specifically on left side of index finger and that the numbness travels distal to that point (toward it of finger). These peripheral nerves can regrow slowly (1mm/mo). Unsure without: More history, but from reading your conditions above, it sounds like it could be a few things, including early type ii diabetes with subsequent neuropathy. Ask your primary to check your sugars just be safe. The distribution of your nerve issues/polyneuropathy suggest it has to be something systemic rather than isolated neuropathies. Any vision changes?
