Left Hand Numb Heart Attack
Is weird numbness and tingling on the left side of your left hand a symptom of impending heart attack?
Probably not: Arm pain that radiates (travels to) the hand and particularly the fingers is usually not heart related, but more likely to be a pinched nerve in the neck. The is referred to as cervical neuropahy, if it comes from the spine, or brachial neuropathy, if it comes from lower down. I've seem this happen if someone leans heavily on crutches they have been using for a sprained knee. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers

My left shoulder down to my left elbow down to my left-hand hurts and tingles. Could i be getting ready to have a heart attack?
Unlikely: Heart attacks (the arteries to the heart) are not a consideration for your age and sex, unless you have other severe medical conditions. It is most likely myofascial referred pain when the tingling follows a classic path from a large muscle in the shoulder to the same arm. Massaging the muscle where it is coming from will help, posture issues or overuse problems are usually the source. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Unlikely: Left arm falling asleep is more likely related to peripheral nerve issues of the arm or shoulder. Symptoms worrisome for acute heart issues are chest pain extending to the left arm. Left arm a bit numb, now I have tingling in pinky up side of palm. Slight pain from my elbow up. I've had migraines with aura. Possibly heart attack?
Left arm nerve issue: Heart attack symptoms can cause left arm symptoms, but in a young patient without other issues would be very unusual. It also should not be migraine aura unless this has been part of your aura before. More likely you have peripheral nerve irritation that may be at the elbow (ulnar nerve) or possibly at the brachial plexus or cervical spine. See your doctor if it persists. ...Read more

Does an anxiety attack make you feel like you're having a heart attack? Numbness in the hands & feet. Fast heart beat. Loss of breath
Anxiety: Anxiety attacks and panic attacks can feel exactly as you describe. At 19 anxiety is far more common than a heart attack. Heart attack is not impossible but statistically the anxiety attack would be overwhelmingly more probable in a young person. Discussing with your Dr. and if appropriate having cardiac testing or help with anxiety is a good course of action. ...Read more
