Anterior tarsal tunnel is an example of a neuropathy type condition to the top of the foot caused by compression of the deep peroneal nerve. I would see a podiatrist for further diagnostic work up and treatment. ...Read more

Cellulitis: You probably have acute cellulitis. Also it's important to make sure that you don't have diabetic foot ulcers. Sometimes the ulcers are hidden by calluses. In any case, it's important that you seen urgent medical care. I recommend going to Emergency room now. They will also evaluate you for any calf swelling bd if you have that they will get a Doppler ultrasound to check for blood clots. ...Read more

Plantar fasciitis?: With the limited info given, i can only guess plantar fasciitis, inflammation of the fascia/arch ligaments. This can be quite painful and persists for months without proper treatment. Stress fracture is also a possibility, or metatarsal syndrome (carpal tunnel equivalent in your food/ankle). If it is bothersome, consult doc, podiastrist for proper eval and treatment... Good luck. ...Read more

Get more studies: You could possibly have a stress fracture that may not show up on an xray. Other explanations include possible mild arthritis, nerve injury, inflammation of a joint or tendon. The location of your pain may guide your physician in determining the problem. Nevertheless, an MRI can be helpful to diagnose your problem. Please see an orthopedist. ...Read more
