MRI: Which part of the body was the MRI performed? It should be have been done at the lumbo sacral region of your low back. Sound like a nerve root compression. You may require an epidural block. Apply ice to your low back to see if symptoms improve for now along with an anti inflammatory for pain if not allergic. ...Read more

Numb lower left leg front of the calf, mild weakness, brisk reflexes. Sent for MRI of brain, tspine, cspine and lspine. Normal. Now EMG. Scared.

MS EVALUATION: The way you classify your symptoms is worrisome. The EMG is the next step to pin down the diagnosis. You may also need a lumbar puncture if symptoms persist. Full lab work including evaluation for Lyme disease it VIT d deficiency b12 folic acid thyroid studies. Sjogrens Syndrome and Sarcoid evaluations well. Multiple things: If your left arm and leg are both weak, you can be having or have had a stroke. Alternatively, brain tumors or seizures can lead to such weakness. Not sure: Thrombophlebitis usually doesn't cause weakness. However, you should have an exam to determine the cause of your symptoms. Clots are less common in your age group, but an exam is necessary to exclude other possibilities. ...Read more
