ECG: Without seeing the ecg and only given what you wrote, it isn't possible to know whether the ecg is abnormal or not. An axis of 57 degrees is not a 'right axis', 157 degrees would be. Left atrial enlargement has definite ecg parameters but doesn't always mean significant abnormality is present. If it were possible to see the ecg more comment would be possible. ...Read more

More info needed: I am assuming echo is showing pericardial effusion and global? Or maybe global hypohypokinesia? Any wall motion abnormalities? Ejection fraction? Do u have any symptoms? At rest or with activities? Any other risk factors? Smoker, overweight, dm, htn, high chol, family history heart attacks, sedentary life etc. Any prior heart attacks? Stress test done. What's been done?: If the left atrial enlargement is so far only demonstrated on x-ray, and no other imaging studies have been performed, junior has a left atrial myxoma until proved otherwise and could die suddenly from it at any time.
