How long does it take for medazepam (using it if necessary in low dosage) to be out of the body? I read that it doesn't damage liver or kidneys. True?
Taking 4 mg alprazolam for 10 years. I have a elevated liver count and drs. Are attempting to diagnose. Wonder how long it will take to be out of body?
Alprazolam: Please do not stop Alprazolam suddenly. It is a habituating drug and you will experience withdrawal -- possibly including seizures. You have been on a relatively high dose for a long time, and tapering over time will be necessary. Please work with your physicians on this, rather than trying to get it out of your body by stopping it yourself. Best wishes. ...Read more

I feel heat in my body like in my chest, liver, stomach. Which diets or drinks should I take to minimize it or what else?
Not sure: I do not understand the medication kanadex. The feeling of heat in your body does not indicate anything in the absence of fever. If you are otherwise healthy, sleep well, good appetite, active and able to work, it is unlikely that further evaluation would be productive. Seeing a doctor would sort out these feelings you have and doing some tests would indicate if there is something to do ...Read more
How fast does it take for your entire body to jaundice once it begins from end stage liver failure?
Same all over: When your bilirubin is over 2 mg/dl, the whites of your eyes will turn a light shade of yellow. When it is over 5 mg/dl, most fair skinned patients will have a yellowish tint to their skin. When it is over 20 mg/dl, the skin will appear bronze. Since bilirubin is distributed in the blood and fluid, it is evenly distributed. ...Read more
My total cholesterol is 242, my triglycerides is 535, if I take statin iam having severe body pain, iam also having fatty liver, can I take niacin.
Complicated.: Can take Niacin or fenofibrate, but may not need to. Single trig value may mis-represent the average trig value. Could be result of other metabolic abnormality. Measure trig and sugar on several occasions including non fasting samples. If in 1000 range will require treatment. If lower maybe not. Try another statin. Your LDL is probably 100. If no coronary artery disease or stroke 100 is fine. ...Read more

No such thing: Detox from what? The liver is a natural factory that packages and gets rid of a variety of chemicals, some of which are toxins, others are totally harmless. I am not a believer in this idea that our bodies are chock fulla toxins we put in, and that fasts, enemas, cleanses and a variety of herbs "detoxifies" (removes the toxins). There is virtually no scientific evidence for any of this. ...Read more
No clear answer: It is unclear what you mean by "cleansing the liver" - the liver receives blood from the intestines and from the heart and is responsible for many functions, including excreting toxins. In some cases, the liver may be affected by long-term exposure to excess calories or toxins. If the damage is minimal, it can be reversed within a few weeks, in severe cases damage may not be reversible. ...Read more
Scams: You can't cleanse your liver and it doesn't need cleaning. Anyone who tells you otherwise is taking advantage of the natural human desire to be deceived. Especially, I hope you're not going to try one of these crazy 'liver cleanses' that involves you eating something horrible that will give you weird bowel movements. These can land you in the hospital. Be smart. ...Read more
Liver Functions: The liver has many functions. Primarily, it filters the blood, detoxifying chemicals and drugs. It also makes proteins that are important for blood clotting and other functions. In addition, it makes bile, which is secreted back into the digestive tract, which helps with digestion and other functions. Hope that helps. ...Read more

Liver enlargement: The liver has a capsule around it, so if you stretch that rather quickly (days) as might occur with an acute infection, it will hurt alot. If it's a slowly progressive disease, the liver enlargement could take place over months to years and may not be as noticeable. Definitely good though to get the diagnosis nailed down to best plan out the treatment. The good news is that the liver is resiliant ...Read more
It depends: It depends on the type of donation. Left lobe donation (to a child) is an easier operation with a shorter recovery. Right lobe donation (to an adult) is much more complicated and is associated with pain, possible death, bile duct complications in up to 30%, and can take 3-6 months to recover from. You would need to discuss this with the surgeon. ...Read more
