Concerning diets, ppl often suggest things like cutting off carbs and sugars and add lean proteins. Can you please suggest specific foods for diets?

Balanced diet: I like diets that focus on eating foods with a low glycemic index. Glycemic index is a measure of how much the foods impact your blood sugar. Low Glycemic diets have been associated with decreased risk of heart disease, diabetes, stroke, depression, and more. Try to fill up half your plate with green veggies, 1/4 of your plate with lean protein, and 1/4 of your plate with starch. ...Read more

I get really cold when I am hungry. I eat regularly and healthy. (low fat and balanced carb/protein/veg.) it is worse when I have gone to the gym. ?

See your doctor: This problem mandates a real-time (face-to-face) meeting with a doctor. A history has to be taken along with a examination as well as labs and other tests. Only after all this will your doctor be in a position to tell you what's wrong and what needs to be done to help you. ...Read more

Are low carb diets healthier than diets with whole grains, vegetables, fruit and lean proteins?

Are low carb diets healthier than diets with whole grains, vegetables, fruit and lean proteins?

Not necessarily: There is no single diet that is best for everyone. I believe it is wise to minimize sugars and simple starches, but i believe a diet with whole grains, vegetables, fruit and low-fat proteins is healthier than a strict low carb diet (which is relatively high in fat and protein). See http://drrandybaker.Com/2013/01/20/diet-and-health/ for my essay on the pros and cons of various diets. ...Read more

Probably: This is enough protein, and I am glad you are counting. This caloric intake won't result in spectacular weight gain or loss if you're sedentary. The real key to getting the body you want will be intensive aerobic exercise. It would be great if you find an activity that you truly enjoy that will also burn lots of calories. Congratulations on your new lifestyle & good luck. ...Read more
