Could I still be pre-diabetic or have IFG if morning gluc numbers are ALWAYS normal (<90) after low carb dinner the night before? Is data relevant?
Yes, could still be: Hi. Prediabetes can be determined 3 ways: fasting serum glucose, serum glucose 2 hours after a 75 gram glucose challenge, and A1c. It is possible to have normal fasting glucose, yet meet diagnostic criteria for prediabetes by either of the other two means. Eat healthily and exercise regularly. Good luck! ...Read more
Freezing is to mean turning liquid into solid form by lowering the temperature. Water begins to freeze at 32 degree f or 0 degree celsius. Freezing reduces the movement of the substance/object--solid. Also commonly used in daily communication--police says to a perpetraitor "freeze" and hopefully the bad boy/girl stays solid/still (just for fun :-)). Have ...Read more
I ate a choc. covered rice crispy treat that had 34 carbs 3 hrs after a low carb dinner and my BG was 97. 3 hrs later it was 169. Is this normal?

Not necessarily: There is no single diet that is best for everyone. I believe it is wise to minimize sugars and simple starches, but i believe a diet with whole grains, vegetables, fruit and low-fat proteins is healthier than a strict low carb diet (which is relatively high in fat and protein). See http://drrandybaker.Com/2013/01/20/diet-and-health/ for my essay on the pros and cons of various diets. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
