Definitely something: It's quite surprising to get such a question on healthtap. Clearly what is occurring should elicit a response of fear, or a rather extreme case of denial. There's a neurologic state called neglect' in stroke victims: paralyzed side is neglected in such a way that person is unaware that it exists. Denial is the #1 cause of diagnoses being made too late. Emergency room, now.

Do swollen lymph nodes leak if u squeeze them or is that an abscess?

Do swollen lymph nodes leak if u squeeze them or is that an abscess?

Infected lymph node: Lymphadenitis is an infection in one or more lymph nodes. Lymph nodes are filled with white blood cells that help your body fight off infections. When lymph nodes become infected, it's usually because an infection started somewhere else in your body. Infected lymph node can become abscess which can drain purulent material usually in associated with cellulitis or soft tissue infection.

Hard, fixed lymph nodes in neck. U/s stated nodes appeared normal. Can u/s distinguish a hard node from soft node? Can u/s detect nhl?

Hard, fixed lymph nodes in neck. U/s stated nodes appeared normal. Can u/s distinguish a hard node from soft node? Can u/s detect nhl?

Neck masses: Other than lymph nodes in neck are commonly thyroid nodules, branchial cleft cysts, lipomas. If you can feel these masses in your neck, have your doctor order a ct or mri. Ultrasound is particularly good at telling whether a mass is solid or cystic, not hard or soft.

Need to know if a dr orders a cats can for lymph nodes before s bronscopy is it cancer.

Need to know if a dr orders a cats can for lymph nodes before s bronscopy is it cancer.

Sounds like he's: Looking for evidence, but the only proof is a biopsy. Ct-scans reveal lumps, in lungs or the mediastinum, wher the heart, swallowing tube and lymph nodes live. Size and architecture point to or against cancer. Pet/ct follows a biopsy. They must know that there is cancer first, then look for the legitimate treatments.

Why do we have lymph nodes?

Why do we have lymph nodes?

Part of immunity: Lymph nodes are an essential part of our immune system. They not only generate precursor cells to what is termed "fixed tissue immune" processes, but they aid in formation of antibodies, they help fight any foreign materials in our body and they may be helpful in fighting certain tumors. We have a very complex and effective system to help combat disease and they are a big part.

Pneuomia affect lymph nodes?

Pneuomia affect lymph nodes?

Monitoring Centers: Lymphatic system absorbs/carries things too big to go into the arteries/veins like bacteria eaten by white cells and digested food. Lymph nodes "taste" the lymph for anything bad like bacteria/viruses/cancers, etc. When it detects a problem, it alerts the immune system and your body reacts. They enlarge in response to the inflammation they create when they react. They shrink when all is well.

My lymph nodes are swollen.?

My lymph nodes are swollen.?

Could be sick.: Lymph nodes often enlarge in areas of infection or inflammation. If you have symptoms in that anatomic region, then perhaps there's a good reason for them to be swollen. If not, and they persist beyond one month, you might want to consider them getting checked out and perhaps even removed for diagnosis.
