Possibly: The fact that it is new onset, responds to benadryl, (diphenhydramine) and has sx limited to what you mention still point to some type of allergy to a food/ air borne pollen in bloom. Ask your doctor to use a stronger tx than just Benadryl (diphenhydramine) and if it persists to do an allergy work up. Also make sure you have not been exposed to mites/fleas, bed bugs, etc. ...Read more

Otherwise, the doctor might look for internal problems that can cause itching, such as drug side effects, liver disease, kidney disease, intestinal parasites, etc... ...Read more

It may take a few days for the skin to calm down. If problem persists, then need to consult a dermatologist or allergist. ...Read more

Reason for itchy nipple aside from detergent allergy or intolerance and pregnancy?

Reason for itchy nipple aside from detergent allergy or intolerance and pregnancy?

Strange: I've never heard of nipple or areolar pruritus before, especially unilaterally. If there are signs of inflammation present, you can apply some low potency hydrocortisone cream sparingly to the affected area and see if it resolves. Pregnancy shouldn't cause this symptom. Don't scratch it. Don't let your boyfriend suck your nipples. He's too old to be doing that. ...Read more

Allergies still raging 1 wk after exceedingly careful mold remediation in laundry room. Dehumidifier working. How can I tell if environment is safe?

Be systematic: It would be important to: first be certain your symptoms are actually due to allergies and next, attempt to definitively define the sources of your allergies. Then addressing with avoidance and/or medication could be more effectively implemented. There are other treatment options as well. The safety of your environment may then be evaluated. ...Read more

If the small red bumps that come and go are hives due to allergy could this be developed over time to a laundry soap. and how long will it last?

Unlikely: The mechanism for contact allergy or an irritant reaction to laundry soap is different from that causing the bumps. Have you consulted an allergist about this? ...Read more
