Other possible causes of amenorrhea include: weight gain or loss, hormonal problems, tension, stress, breastfeeding, and discontinuing birth control pills ...Read more

Hormonal imbalance: If you did not have unprotected sex since your last period, it is likely to be hormonal imbalance. Menstrual irregularities are not uncommon and anovulatory cycle is a common cause. If you miss more than two periods it would be time to see your doctor. If you do not wish to be pregnant, use contraception all the time. You may consider implanted contraceptive or an IUD. Could you ovulate twice in 6 weeks without flow? Small amounts of sticky, clumpy yellow CM after stretchier white CM. Late period, negative HPTs.

Could you ovulate twice in 6 weeks without flow? Small amounts of sticky, clumpy yellow CM after stretchier white CM. Late period, negative HPTs.

Less likely: If one ovulates then there are only two possible outcomes -- pregnancy or a menstrual cycle. Relying on cervical mucous to predict ovulation is not very reliable. Nothing is 'wrong'. Generally in order to see a pattern, the same symptom has to occur for at least 3mos duration before further investigation is warranted. ...Read more

Maybe, maybe not...: It can be hard to tell if a woman is pregnant because some of the symptoms seen in early pregnancy can also happen in non-pregnant women. A urine pregnancy test gives a reliable result if done correctly. One can test about 3 weeks after sex (when conception might have occurred), or 1 week after missing a period. An ob-gyn doctor can evaluate any persistent or worrisome symptoms. ...Read more

Pregnant?

Maybe not, but...: A urine pregnancy test, done correctly, gives a reliable result 3 weeks after sex (3 weeks after when conception might have occurred), or 1 week after missing a period. If done sooner, a positive result is likely real, but a negative result may be due to testing too soon, and thus lead to a repeat test. If a woman gets her normal regular period, then she is not pregnant, and a test is not needed. ...Read more
