What could cause my INR to be 1.9 last week, and 4.4 this week with no diet or medication changes?  Can lupus anticoag. Do it?

Changing INR : It is relatively common for inr to change even though a person keeps taking the same dose of Coumadin and is careful with diet, taking the same amount of green foods (salads, green vegetables). Lupus antibodies do raise inr but unless there is a change in the level of lupus antibodies, it would not affect the inr. Some individuals have a very labile (changing) inr for no apparent reason. ...Read more

The ANA? False?: The ANA is moot. There are however discrete clinical criteria for the DX of lupus. Do you have them? The test most specific for lupus is double stranded dna antibodies. I suspect you do not ha be sle. It has many mimics. See a rheumatogist. Some trained well in rheumatology would not diagnose you with the information you have given! ...Read more

Re:lupus, recently my C3 is low and C4 is low but where i had 0 for anti_dsdna my last lab showed 10 is my lupus active again?

See details: Low c3 and c4 levels by themselves do not have much clinical significance. They and your dna levels does not determine the activity of the lupus. Discuss these issues with your rheumatologist. ...Read more
