Laser Tattoo Removal (Overview)

This is the process if using pairing colors in a tattoo with discrete or specific wavelengths of light. The color then absorbs the energy from the light which heats and liquified the ink which is then cleared by the patient's lymphatic systems naturally. Darker colors are more easily removed than yellow/green and many treatments are required for optimal results.

Alot of factors: Proper lasers and a good knowledgable md are important age of the tattoo ( older harder to remove 100%) size colors all are important. I remove a lot of tattoos colored ones are difficult however I use 5 lasers! i ca remove that majority of the inks black red dark blues comeout better sky blue needs a ruby green too yellow likely will not come out and white as well. ...Read more

Maybe slightly: Double edge sword here. The shattering of the ink is the main cause of pain. In the early session if I laser non inked skin there is really little pain. After each session there is less of an ink load so there should be less pain however you need to increase your laser power so that increases the pain a bit. THus the reduction of pain may not seem that different as time goes on. ...Read more

So far no problems: Aside from instant problems like burns from inappropriate laser use there seems to be no adverse health issues to laser tattoo removal. The ink in taken up by your lympahtics which is where it would go already but much more slowly. Thre is no study that shows any acute health issues ...Read more

Yes: I have been performing LTR for about 7 years. I am on long island I would recommend you only go to a physician well trained in LTR using FDA approved Q switched lasers. A serious office will have 2 to 5 lasers specifically for LTR Good Luck ...Read more
