Found a lump in upper buttocks. Very deep, very painful. Growing quickly. Can hardly walk. Found another one on my hip. Dr said its lipoma. I don't agree.

Mass: Lumps must be biopsied and sent to pathlogy for definitive diagnosis. If redness and warmth at site let provider know. ...Read more

Rocephin (ceftriaxone): This antibiotic is given by deep intramuscular injection or IV. When given by injection it goes in the deep muscles usually of the buttocks. There it may cause localized bleeding of the muscle causing the lumps you feel. These are usually absorbed by the body. Sometimes they calcify, most likely on patients who have had multiple shots in the buttock. There is really nothing to do but time. ...Read more

I have a large lump on my lower left buttocks. I have been using antibiotic ointment and tea tree oil. It seems to be helping. Is this an ok method

NO: Antibiotic ointment, tea tree oil, nor anything else you apply to the surface will not be of any benefit. Throw away these useless rip-offs and see a DR. Usually drainage is the only path to better healing of an abscess. If you have a tricholemmal cyst without inflammation it can be removed. ...Read more
