Large Hard Lump On Neck
Large hard lump on my neck/above the collerbone, burning an painful, itchy appeared 2days ago what could it be possibly? Is it serious?
See a doctor: Large lumps that occur suddenly always should be checked out by a doctor. Most "lumps" are not serious but some are. Your doctor will determine if further tests are needed.
I have a large hard lump between my collerbone an neck that moves an is painful like burning type pain what could this be? An should I be concerned?
Yes: Anything that is a mass, is painful, and is burning needs to be evaluated by an orthopedic tumor specialist. The burning sensation could mean that it is involving the nerves.
See Head & Neck doc.: Possible lymph node vs. Parotid gland mass other rare cause. Enlarged nodes from 1) normal response to inflammation 2) lymph node cancer 3) regional cancer moved to lymph node 4) weird infections. Parotid masses usuallu require surgery but 80% are benign. If this has been present for more than a few weeks please see a doc experienced in head and neck disease. Usually a Plastic Surgeon or ENT.See 1 more doctor answer
Have it checked: Lumps in the neck can be caused by a number of things ranging from from benign (like lymph nodes responding to an infection, cysts, or non-cancerous tumors) to serious things like cancer. Any neck lumps in someone who smokes are especially worrisome and should be checked by a physician. See your doctor so he/she can do an exam and recommend a specialist if needed (like an ENT doctor).See 1 more doctor answer

Surgeon or Derm.: Ask your dentist or primary care physician. Give them more details on the history of the mass (es) and any symptoms associated with them. They will probably send you to an oral surgeon or dermatologist depending on their clinical findings. It's good that it hasn't changed much (usually that suggests it's benign). Could be a number of different things.

Lump on neck, lump on back of tongue, white spot on tonsil, red dots on tongue (look like large paepelle), white coating on tongue, ear/throat pain.
Doctor can check: New throat pain can be from a strep throat infection (antibiotics are needed), a cold or influenza (antibiotics usually not used), or from some other cause such as allergies or irritants. Usually, a person sees the doctor if the sore throat is "super sore", recurrent, or doesn't go away quickly (mainly to check for strep throat). Throat infections can occur along with tongue and ear symptoms.
Needs evaluation: A lump may or may not be muscular. Lumps always need consideration for a biopsy because rarely this can be a tumor and I have even seen a muscle tumor due to the muscle swelling in the neck. Your physician will need to evaluate you and decide the best course.See 1 more doctor answer
Monitoring Centers: Lymphatic system absorbs/carries things too big to go into the arteries/veins like bacteria eaten by white cells and digested food. Lymph nodes "taste" the lymph for anything bad like bacteria/viruses/cancers, etc. When it detects a problem, it alerts the immune system and your body reacts. They enlarge in response to the inflammation they create when they react. They shrink when all is well.
