What to do if I had pulmonary edema during gall bladder removal in 2011. the radiology report reads..the cardiac silhouette?

Surgery-related: It may have been related to surgery. If you have had no symptoms since the surgery then I would simply ask your doctor if a repeat chest x-ray needs to be done. The x-ray report will discuss the 'cardiac silhouette' which just refers to how the outline of the heart looks on x-ray. ...Read more

What do you advise if i had pulmonary edema during gall bladder removal in 2011. The radiology report reads..The cardiac silhouette?

Not to worry: The X-ray was likely a post-operative portable.and you may have had signs of pulmonary edema by radiographic evidence. Since it has been 3 years since the study and there has been no clinical sequelae, I would not worry about it. ...Read more

Ct scan with contrast found a 3mm nodule in my left lung, minimal dependent atelectasis, & an exaggerated cardiac silhouette. What does this mean?

Pulmonary nodule: Any nodule in the lung, no matter what size, needs to be investigated thoroughly. Comparison with previous chest xrays and CT scans would be the priority. If you smoked tobacco, then further tests such as a PET scan and a biopsy and bronchoscopy are indicated. Please see a pulmonologist soon. Best wishes. ...Read more

What happens if you have big cardiac output but at the same time get afraid and tense your abdomen? Does the aorta constrict when it should expand?

What happens if you have big cardiac output but at the same time get afraid and tense your abdomen? Does the aorta constrict when it should expand?

You can not ..: ... voluntarily constrict or dilate your blood vessels. They do what they are supposed to do based on the physiologic demands of your circulation at the time. Good wishes:) ...Read more

Always anxited about getting any big disease. Will this anxiety lead me to cardiac arrest?(18 years old male)

Severe anxiety: Clearly you worry way too much. Your info says nothing about heart disease so I have to assume that as an 18 yr old who has never smoked ( very good!) that your heart is healthy. The worry should not lead to cardiac arrest but i bet you would feel so much better if you got some help. Please get a referral for cognitive behavioral therapy and see your doctor about possibly trying some medication. ...Read more

At 26, heart issues: Are not likely. But it's good your test is normal. This may be a panic attack or anxiety. But they are both serious and feel awful - get a referral for CBT psychotherapy where you can learn skills to avoid, reduce and manage anxiety. You can also learn more about yourself and how to take better care of the only you you've got. Good luck. ...Read more
